Microbiome Based Systems, Apparatus and Methods for the Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons
There are provided methods, systems and processes for the utilization of microbial and related genetic information for use in the exploration, determination, production and recovery of natural resources, including energy sources, and the monitoring, control and analysis of processes and activities.

2 . A system comprising:
one or more computers configured to perform operations for determining a composition of a fluid used in a fracturing of a well at a location, the operations comprising:
accessing microbiome information associated with the location, the microbiome information including one or more of real-time microbiome information, historic microbiome information, derived microbiome information, or predictive microbiome information pertaining to one or more conditions of the well; and
generating an analysis of the microbiome information, the analysis including a determination of a chemical additive to add to the fluid during the fracturing.

The system of claim 2 , wherein the analysis of the microbiome information further includes an identification or a prediction of one or more bacteria that produce one or more corrosive byproducts and wherein the determination of the chemical additive includes a determination of a biocide or a stabilizer to reduce or eliminate the one or more bacteria.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more bacteria includes one or more sulfide-reducing bacteria included in a subsurface at the location.
5 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the biocide includes glutaraldehyde.

The system of claim 2 , wherein the analysis of the microbiome information further includes an identification or a prediction of corrosion of one or more pipes or other equipment due to oxygen in the fluid and wherein the determination of the chemical additive includes a determination of one or more oxygen scavengers to reduce the oxygen.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the one or more oxygen scavengers include ammonium bisulfite.
8 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the analysis of the microbiome information further includes an identification or a prediction of corrosion of one or more pipes or other equipment and wherein the determination of the chemical additive includes a determination of a corrosion inhibitor.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the corrosion inhibitor includes N,N-dimethyl formamide.
10 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes an acid that is diluted to help dissolve minerals and initiate cracks in a formation associated with the well.
11 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes a breaker that allows delayed break down of gel polymer chains.
12 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes a friction reducer that minimizes friction between the fluid and one or more pipes or other equipment.
13 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes a crosslinker that causes the fluid to maintain viscosity as temperature increases.
14 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes guar gum or hydroxyethyl cellulose to thicken the fluid to help suspend a proppant.
15 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes an iron control to create a brine carrier in the fluid.
16 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes a pH adjuster or buffering agent to help maintain an effectiveness of another chemical additive.
17 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes a scale inhibitor to prevent scale deposits in one or more pipes or other equipment.
18 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the chemical additive includes a surfactant to increase a viscosity of the fluid.
19 . A method comprising:
performing operations, using one or more compute resources, for determining a composition of a fluid used in a fracturing of a well at a location, the operations comprising:
accessing, using the one or more computer resources, microbiome information associated with the location, the microbiome information including one or more of real-time microbiome information, historic microbiome information, derived microbiome information, or predictive microbiome information pertaining to one or more conditions of the well; and
generating, using the one or more computer resources, an analysis of the microbiome information, the analysis including a determination of a chemical additive to add to the fluid during the fracturing.

The method of claim 19 , wherein the analysis of the microbiome information further includes an identification or a prediction of one or more bacteria that produce one or more corrosive byproducts and wherein the determination of the chemical additive includes a determination of a biocide or a stabilizer to reduce or eliminate the one or more bacteria.
21 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the analysis of the microbiome information further includes an identification or a prediction of corrosion of one or more pipes or other equipment due to oxygen in the fluid and wherein the determination of the chemical additive includes a determination of one or more oxygen scavengers to reduce the oxygen.
