Abstract

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for providing power to a plurality of dispensers. For example, a supply coupler, such as an alternating current to direct current power converter, is coupled to an energy storage component and/or a load coupler of a power distribution apparatus. The supply coupler provides power over the load coupler to one or more dispensers for operation. The supply coupler provides power to the energy storage component for energy storage. Responsive to a load on the power distribution apparatus exceeding a supply current of the power provided by the supply coupler (e.g., multiple dispensers may attempt to perform concurrent dispense events), the energy storage component may discharge energy to provide additional power to one or more dispensers to facilitate concurrent dispense events. Because the power distribution apparatus may connect to multiple dispensers, a cord management device may be used for power cord management.

Claims (38)

1. A power distribution apparatus for providing power to a plurality of dispensers, comprising:

a transmitter configured to transmit wireless power to at least one of a supply coupler or an energy storage component;

a load coupler configured to receive a first portion of the wireless power and provide first power to one or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers based upon the first portion of the wireless power; and

the energy storage component configured to:

receive a second portion of the wireless power, and

upon a threshold being exceeded, provide second power to the one or more dispensers based upon the second portion of the wireless power, wherein the second power is sufficient to enable two or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers to perform concurrent dispense events.

2. The power distribution apparatus of claim 1 , the energy storage component comprising a capacitor having a capacitance of at least about 0.1 farad.

3. The power distribution apparatus of claim 1 , the energy storage component comprising a capacitor having a capacitance between about 0.1 farad and about 10 farads.

4. The power distribution apparatus of claim 1 , the load coupler comprising:

a first coupling element for coupling the load coupler to a first dispenser of the one or more dispensers; and

a second coupling element for coupling the load coupler to a second dispenser of the one or more dispensers.

5. The power distribution apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the transmitter is mounted to a surface within a line of sight of at least one of the load coupler or the energy storage component.

6. The power distribution apparatus of claim 1 , the wireless power comprising at least one of RF power, light power, or ultrasonic power.

7. The power distribution apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the threshold is associated with the first power being provided to the one or more dispensers by the load coupler.

8. The power distribution apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the threshold is based upon an electrical current.

9. A power distribution apparatus for providing power to a plurality of dispensers, comprising:

a load coupler configured to receive wireless power and provide first power to one or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers based upon the wireless power; and

an energy storage component configured to, upon a threshold being exceeded, provide second power to the one or more dispensers based upon the wireless power,

wherein the second power is sufficient to provide wireless power and power through a power cord to two or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers to enable the two or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers to perform concurrent dispense events.

10. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , wherein:

the first power is based upon a first portion of the wireless power; and

the second power is based upon at least one of the first portion of the wireless power or of a second portion of the wireless power.

11. The power distribution apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the load coupler is configured to receive the first portion of the wireless power and the energy storage component is configured to receive the second portion of the wireless power.

12. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , the energy storage component comprising a capacitor having a capacitance between about 0.1 farad and about 10 farads.

13. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the threshold is based upon an electrical current.

14. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the threshold is based upon concurrent operation of the one or more dispensers.

15. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , the load coupler comprising:

a first coupling element for coupling the load coupler to a first dispenser of the one or more dispensers; and

a second coupling element for coupling the load coupler to a second dispenser of the one or more dispensers.

16. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the energy storage component is coupled to the load coupler.

17. The power distribution apparatus of claim 9 , the wireless power comprising at least one of RF power, light power, or ultrasonic power.

18. A method for providing power to a plurality of dispensers, comprising:

receiving wireless power at at least one of a load coupler or an energy storage component;

providing, by the load coupler, first power to one or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers based upon the wireless power; and

upon a threshold being exceeded, providing, by the energy storage component, second power to the one or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers based upon the wireless power, wherein the second power is sufficient to enable two or more dispensers of the plurality of dispensers to perform concurrent dispense events.

19. The method of claim 18 , comprising:

transmitting, by a transmitter, the wireless power.

20. The method of claim 18 , the wireless power comprising at least one of RF power, light power, or ultrasonic power.
