1,2,3,3,3-pentafluropropene production processes
A process is disclosed for making CF 3 CF═CHF. The process involves reacting CF 3 CClFCCl 2 F with H 2 in a reaction zone in the presence of a catalyst to produce a product mixture comprising CF 3 CF═CHF. The catalyst has a catalytically effective amount of palladium supported on a support selected from the group consisting of alumina, fluorided alumina, aluminum fluoride and mixtures thereof and the mole ratio of H 2 to CF 3 CClFCCl 2 F fed to the reaction zone is between about 1:1 and about 5:1. Also disclosed are azeotropic compositions of CF 3 CClFCCl 2 F and HF and azeotropic composition of CF 3 CHFCH 2 F and HF.
1. A composition comprising CF 3 CF═CH 2 (HFO-1234yf), CF 3 CH═CH 2 (HFO-1243zf), CF 3 CFHCH 2 F (HFC-245eb) and at least one member selected from the group consisting of CF 3 CH 2 CH 3 (HFC-263fb) and CF 3 CF═CHF (1225ye).
2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the CF 3 CF═CHF comprises Z and E isomers of CF 3 CF═CHF.
3. The composition of claim 1 further comprising CF 3 CFCFCI (HCFO-1215yb).
4. A composition comprising CF 3 CF═CH 2 (HFO-1234yf), CF 3 CH═CH 2 (HFO-1243zf), CF 3 CFHCH 2 F (HFC-245eb), and Z and E isomers of CF 3 CF═CHF (HFO-1225ye).
5. The composition of claim 4 further comprising CF 3 CFCFCI (HCFO-1215yb).
6. A composition comprising CF 3 CF═CH 2 (HFO-1234yf), CF 3 CH═CH 2 (HFO-1243zf), CF 3 CFHCH 2 F (HFC-245eb), CF 3 CH 2 CH 3 (HFC-263fb), and Z and E isomers of CF 3 CF═CHF (HFO-1225ye).
