Transaction flow
A method of encoding a transaction flow is described. The method comprises: receiving information from a user about a transaction type to be executed; creating a transaction flow comprising a sequence of states, where at least some states include text to be displayed and inputs to be enabled for that state; and encoding the transaction flow into a machine-readable code.
1. A method, comprising:
capturing, by a Self-Service Terminal (SST), a two dimensional barcode presented to a camera of the SST from a mobile display of a mobile device operated by a user;
decoding, by the SST, the two dimensional barcode into content data;
obtaining a state table to interrupt state codes;
identifying a sequence of processing steps from the content data, wherein the sequence of processing steps include certain state codes;
identifying text from the content data;
assembling machine code based on the state table, the certain state codes, and the text; and
processing, by the SST, the machine code and causing implementation on the SST of a transaction flow corresponding to the sequence of processing steps and further causing execution of a transaction on the SST based on the transaction flow and the text that is presented on a display of the SST during the transaction without the SST having any prior knowledge of the transaction, without the SST downloading any software, and without the SST updating any existing software while executing the transaction.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein processing further includes activating input devices of the SST during the processing of the transaction based on the machine code.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein activating further includes activating, based on the machine code, the input devices as one or more of a card reader of the SST an encrypting Personal Identification Number (PIN) pad of the SST, selective function keys of a keyboard of the SST, biometrics reader of the SST, and a cash deposit/cash acceptor of the SST.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein processing further includes causing the SST to display certain text on the display of the SST as selectable options or as a request for the user to input data using an input peripheral of the SST.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein processing further includes causing interacting, by the SST, with an external web service.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein processing further includes causing, activation, by the SST, of an encrypting Personal Identification Number (PIN) pad, receiving, by the SST, a PIN entered by the user, verifying, by the SST, the PIN is a PIN included in the machine code before the SST processes a remaining portion of the transaction.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein decoding further includes verifying a digital signature included in the two dimensional barcode is associated with the content data.
