Abstract

The invention relates to crystalline forms of a β-nicotinamide mononucleotide, methods of their preparation, and related pharmaceutical preparations thereof. The invention also relates to preparations suitable for nutraceutical, veterinary, and agriculturally-relevant uses.

29 . A solid composition comprising a compound having the structure of formula (I),

or a salt thereof, and further comprising one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers, wherein said composition is in a unit dosage form for human administration of 0.01 to 3000 mg, and further wherein said composition is formulated as a dietary supplement.

30 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said composition is pyrogen-free.

31 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said composition is non-pyrogenic.

32 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said unit dosage form is a pill.

33 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said unit dosage form is a tablet.

34 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said unit dosage form is a capsule.

35 . The solid composition of claim 34 , wherein said capsule is a gelatin capsule.

36 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers comprise gelatin.

37 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers comprise hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose.

38 . The solid composition of claim 29 , wherein said one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers comprise sodium carboxymethyl cellulose.

39 . A method of preparing a dietary supplement comprising combining (i) a compound having the structure of formula (I),

or a salt thereof, with (ii) one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers, to form a solid composition,

wherein said composition is in a unit dosage form for human administration of 0.01 to 3000 mg, and further wherein said composition is formulated as a dietary supplement.

40 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said composition is pyrogen-free.

41 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said composition is non-pyrogenic.

42 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said unit dosage form is a pill.

43 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said unit dosage form is a tablet.

44 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said unit dosage form is a capsule.

45 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers comprise gelatin.

46 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers comprise hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose.

47 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers comprise sodium carboxymethyl cellulose.

48 . A method of supplementing a diet comprising providing a composition to a human for self-administration, wherein the composition is a solid composition comprising a compound having the structure of formula (I),

or a salt thereof, and further comprising one or more solid orally-acceptable excipients or carriers, wherein said composition is in a unit dosage form for human administration of 0.01 to 3000 mg, and further wherein said composition is formulated as a dietary supplement.
