Abstract

Implementations are directed to remote data aggregation, data management, and data visualization of field data from remote field site locations. Actions can include generating, by one or more sensors, the field data, each sensor of the one or more sensors being responsive to field site activity, transmitting, through a regional network, the field data to a back-end system, processing, by the back-end system, the field data to provide visualization data, transmitting the visualization data to one or more mobile computing devices, and providing a computer-executable application for execution on a mobile computing device, the computer-executable application processing the visualization data to provide data visualizations.

receiving sensor data from the set of sensors and through respective authorized play networks;

processing the sensor data to provide visualization data as at least part of the requested field data; and

transmitting the visualization data for display on the computing device.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a group of industrial sites associated with respective authorized play networks; and

identifying at least one industrial site to which the operator is authorized to access or to control,

wherein the visualization data includes only data that is received from sensors that are within the at least one industrial site.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the visualization data is encrypted by applying a triple DES encryption method or an AES-128 encryption method.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the backend system comprises a cloud network, and wherein the method further comprises storing the visualization data in the cloud network.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein a play network that services an industrial site comprises a network of sensors coupled to equipment at the industrial site and provides data acquisition functionality for the industrial site, and

wherein the industrial site is for extracting natural resources.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein a play network comprises one or more sub-networks, each sub-network comprising an access point and one or more communication devices, the access point being capable of receiving data from one or more sites in a group of industrial sites covered by the play network, and each communication device enabling data communication between the access point and at least one sensor system in the group of industrial site.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, from the computing device, a control signal to remotely operate an asset at the industrial site; and

transmitting the control signal to the asset at the industrial site, the control signal causing a change in operation of the asset.

8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising identifying a particular industrial site where the asset is located,

wherein the control signal is transmitted to the particular industrial site, and

wherein at least one component of the particular industrial site is responsive to the control signal.

9. A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing one or more instructions executable by a one or more computers at a backend system to perform operations comprising:

receiving, from a computing device, a request to receive field data of one or more industrial sites, wherein the one or more industrial sites are each serviced by a respective play network capable of communicating sensor data from respective industrial sites to the backend system;

determining one or more authorized play networks to which at least one of the computing device or an operator associated with the computing device is authorized to access;

determining a set of sensors, each sensor in the set of sensors being able to communicate with at least one of the authorized play networks, and each sensor in the set of sensors being responsive to a respective site activity at a respective industrial site in the one or more industrial sites;

receiving sensor data from the set of sensors and through respective authorized play networks;

processing the sensor data to provide visualization data as at least part of the requested field data; and

transmitting the visualization data for display on the computing device.

10. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the operations further comprise:

determining a group of industrial sites associated with respective authorized play networks; and

identifying at least one industrial site to which the operator is authorized to access or to control,

wherein the visualization data includes only data that is received from sensors that are within the at least one industrial site.

11. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the visualization data is encrypted by applying a triple DES encryption method or an AES-128 encryption method.

12. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the backend system comprises a cloud network, and wherein the operations further comprise storing the visualization data in the cloud network.

13. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein a play network that services an industrial site comprises a network of sensors coupled to equipment at the industrial site and provides data acquisition functionality for the industrial site, and

wherein the industrial site is for extracting natural resources.

14. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein a play network comprises one or more sub-networks, each sub-network comprising an access point and one or more communication devices, the access point being capable of receiving data from one or more sites in a group of industrial sites covered by the play network, and each communication device enabling data communication between the access point and at least one sensor system in the group of industrial site.

15. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving, from the computing device, a control signal to remotely operate an asset at the industrial site; and

transmitting the control signal to the asset at the industrial site, the control signal causing a change in operation of the asset.

16. The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise identifying a particular industrial site where the asset is located,

wherein the control signal is transmitted to the particular industrial site, and

wherein at least one component of the particular industrial site is responsive to the control signal.
