Abstract

A method includes configuring serving cells for UE, the serving cells including at least six serving cells configurable for the UE; receiving PUCCH format configuration information for transmitting uplink control information associated with the configured serving cells, the PUCCH format configuration information including configuration information of PUCCH format 4; determining a total number of HARQ-ACK bits, SR bits, and periodic CSI bits to be transmitted in a subframe; selecting, at least based on the determined total number, a PUCCH format to transmit at least one of HARQ-ACK, SR, and periodic CSI, the selected PUCCH format being one of PUCCH formats including the PUCCH format 4 and PUCCH format 3; and transmitting the uplink control information associated with the configured serving cells in the subframe using the selected PUCCH format, the uplink control information associated with the configured serving cells including the at least one of HARQ-ACK, SR, and periodic CSI.

Claims (57)

1. A wireless device comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor operationally coupled to the transceiver and configured to:

receive Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) format configuration information associated with at least one serving cell configured for the wireless device, wherein the PUCCH format configuration information comprises configuration information of at least one PUCCH format indicated by a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message;

determine a total number of uplink control information bits associated with transmission in a subframe;

select, based on the total number being greater than a first threshold, a PUCCH format 4, of the at least one PUCCH format, to transmit uplink control information associated with at least a portion of the uplink control information bits;

determine that a simultaneousAckNackAndCQI indicator for the PUCCH format 4 is set to true;

determine, based on a second threshold associated with the total number wherein the second threshold is greater than the first threshold, whether to drop at least one bit of the uplink control information bits for transmitting the uplink control information using the selected PUCCH format; and

transmit, using the selected PUCCH format, the uplink control information in the subframe, wherein the uplink control information is associated with the at least one serving cell.

2. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine resource sets of a plurality of PUCCH formats comprising the selected PUCCH format 4; and

determine a resource of the selected PUCCH format 4 indicated by a value of Transmission Power Control (TPC) field in downlink control information (DCI) of a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH).

The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the uplink control information bits comprise Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) bits, a scheduling request (SR) bit, and periodic Channel State Information (CSI) bits, and wherein the uplink control information comprises a HARQ-ACK, a SR, and a periodic CSI report.

4. The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine a priority for the periodic CSI report based on at least one of:

a PUCCH report type, a process ID, a CSI subframe index, a serving cell index, or a serving cell group; and

drop, based on the determined priority and the second threshold, at least one periodic CSI report bit.

5. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the uplink control information is transmitted in the subframe via a primary serving cell (PCell) or a PUCCH serving cell.

6. The wireless device of claim 5 , wherein the processor is further configured to set the PUCCH serving cell among secondary serving cells (SCells), wherein the uplink control information is transmitted in the subframe via the PUCCH serving cell.

7. The wireless device of claim 6 , wherein the processor is further configured to receive configuration information of the PUCCH serving cell via RRC signaling.

The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) multiplexed with one periodic Channel State Information (CSI) report in a second subframe using PUCCH format 2/2a/2b if simultaneousAckNackAndCQI is set TRUE and if the HARQ-ACK corresponds to a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission or Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH)/Enhanced PDCCH indicating downlink Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) release on a primary serving cell or a PUCCH serving cell.

9. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine a second total number of second uplink control information bits associated with transmission in a second subframe;

select, based on the second total number being less than or equal to the first threshold, a second PUCCH format, of the at least one PUCCH format, to transmit second uplink control information associated with at least portion of the second uplink control information bits; and

transmit, using the selected second PUCCH format, the second uplink control information in the second subframe.

10. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the PUCCH format configuration information indicates:

a starting physical resource block for determining a PUCCH resource set for the selected PUCCH format 4; and

a quantity of physical resource blocks for determining the PUCCH resource set for the selected PUCCH format 4; and

wherein a PUCCH resource of the PUCCH resource set for the selected PUCCH format 4 is indicated by a 2-bit field of a transmission power control (TPC) command.

11. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) format configuration information associated with at least one serving cell configured for the wireless device, wherein the PUCCH format configuration information comprises configuration information of at least one PUCCH format indicated by a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message;

determining a total number of uplink control information bits associated with transmission in a subframe;

selecting, based on the total number being greater than a first threshold, a PUCCH format 4, of the at least one PUCCH format, to transmit uplink control information associated with at least a portion of the uplink control information bits;

determining that a simultaneousAckNackAndCQI indicator for the PUCCH format 4 is set to true;

determining, based on a second threshold associated with the total number wherein the second threshold is greater than the first threshold, whether to drop at least one bit of the uplink control information bits for transmitting the uplink control information using the selected PUCCH format; and

transmitting, using the selected PUCCH format, the uplink control information in the subframe, wherein the uplink control information is associated with the at least one serving cell.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining resource sets of a plurality of PUCCH formats comprising the selected PUCCH format 4; and

determining a resource of the selected PUCCH format 4 indicated by a value of Transmission Power Control (TPC) field in downlink control information (DCI) of a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH).

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the uplink control information bits comprise Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) bits, a scheduling request (SR) bit, and periodic Channel State Information (CSI) bits, and

wherein the uplink control information comprises a HARQ-ACK, a SR, and a periodic CSI report.

14. The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

determining a priority for the periodic CSI report based on at least one of: a PUCCH report type, a process ID, a CSI subframe index, a serving cell index, or a serving cell group; and

dropping, based on the determined priority and the second threshold, at least one periodic CSI report bit.

15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the uplink control information is transmitted in the subframe via a primary serving cell (PCell) or a PUCCH serving cell.

16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising setting the PUCCH serving cell among secondary serving cells (SCells), wherein the uplink control information is transmitted in the subframe via the PUCCH serving cell.

17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising receiving configuration information of the PUCCH serving cell via RRC signaling.

18. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

transmitting a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) multiplexed with one periodic Channel State Information (CSI) report in a second subframe using PUCCH format 2/2a/2b if simultaneousAckNackAndCQI is set TRUE and if the HARQ-ACK corresponds to a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission or Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH)/Enhanced PDCCH indicating downlink Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) release on a primary serving cell or a PUCCH serving cell.

19. The method of claim 11 , wherein the PUCCH format configuration information indicates:

a starting physical resource block for determining a PUCCH resource set for the selected PUCCH format 4; and

a quantity of physical resource blocks for determining the PUCCH resource set for the selected PUCCH format 4; and

wherein a PUCCH resource of the PUCCH resource set for the selected PUCCH format 4 is indicated by a 2-bit field of a transmission power control (TPC) command.

20. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining a second total number of second uplink control information bits associated with transmission in a second subframe;

selecting, based on the second total number being less than or equal to the first threshold, a second PUCCH format, of the at least one PUCCH format, to transmit second uplink control information associated with at least portion of the second uplink control information bits; and

transmitting, using the selected second PUCCH format, the second uplink control information in the second subframe.
