Abstract

A system includes a smart table at which a wagering game is provided RFID-enabled chips and RFID sensors configured to detect the presence of RFID-enabled chips. The smart table includes a dealer scratchpad for detecting a value of RFID-enabled chips within a scratchpad area on the smart table. The smart table includes a ticket reader and a processor configured to scan, with the ticket reader, a voucher presented by a player, the voucher is redeemable for a voucher value, determine the voucher value of the voucher in response to the scanning, display, to a dealer of the wagering game at the smart table, a confirmation that the player is entitled to receive the voucher value, detect, from the RFID sensor, a chip value within the scratchpad area, compare the chip value to the voucher value, and display, to the dealer, a confirmation that the chip value matches the voucher value.

Claims (59)

1. A system comprising:

a smart table at which a wagering game is provided to one or more primary players using radio-frequency identification (RFID)-enabled chips, the smart table includes at least one RFID sensor configured to detect the presence of RFID-enabled chips, the at least one RFID sensor includes a dealer scratchpad for detecting a value of RFID-enabled chips within a scratchpad area on the smart table;

a ticket printer; and

at least one processor executing instructions which cause the at least one processor to:

receive an initiation message indicating a ticket-out action;

detect, from the at least one RFID sensor, a chip value within the scratchpad area;

cause to be displayed, to a dealer of the wagering game at the smart table, the detected chip value; and

print a voucher on the ticket printer, the voucher having a voucher value equal to the detected chip value.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one RFID sensor includes a chip tray sensor disposed beneath a chip tray of the smart table and configured to detect a chip tray value of chips within the chip tray, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:

detect, from the chip tray sensor, an initial chip tray value;

detect, from the at least one RFID sensor, removal of the chip value from the scratchpad area after printing the voucher;

detect, from the chip tray sensor, a subsequent chip tray value;

determine that a difference between the initial chip tray value and the subsequent chip tray value is not equal to the voucher value; and

transmit an alert message indicating a discrepancy during ticket creation.

3. The system of claim 1 further including a ticket reader, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:

scan, with the ticket reader, a voucher redeemable for a voucher value;

determine the voucher value of the voucher in response to the scanning; and

compare a chip withdrawal value detected by the at least one RFID sensor from the dealer scratchpad to the voucher value.

The system of claim 1 further comprising a table management device, wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to provide a graphical user interface to the dealer on the table management device, the graphical user interface is configured to initiate one or more of a ticket-in action and a ticket-out action.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein receiving an initiation message indicating a ticket-out action includes receiving a ticket-out input from the dealer on the table management device.

6. The system of claim 4 , wherein the graphical user interface receives a confirmation input from the dealer that the detected chip value matches a manual count of chips positioned within the scratchpad area prior to printing the voucher.

The system of claim 6 further comprising a security camera positioned to capture digital video of at least the scratchpad area, wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to capture a digital image at least the scratchpad area upon receiving a cash-out completion input, the digital image includes an image of the voucher as placed in the scratchpad area by the dealer.

A method for ticketing at a smart table, the smart table providing a wagering game to one or more active players using radio-frequency identification (RFID)-enabled chips, the smart table including at least one RFID sensor configured to detect the presence of RFID-enabled chips, the smart table defining a scratchpad area covered by the at least one RFID sensor for detecting a value of RFID-enabled chips placed within the scratchpad area on the smart table, the method implemented by at least one processor in communication with at least one memory, the method comprising:

receiving an initiation message indicating a ticket-out action;

detecting, from the at least one RFID sensor, a chip value within the scratchpad area;

causing to be displayed, on a graphical user interface of a table management device at the smart table, the detected chip value; and

causing a voucher to be printed, on a ticket printer at the smart table, the voucher having a voucher value equal to the detected chip value.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least one RFID sensor includes a chip tray sensor disposed beneath a chip tray of the smart table and configured to detect a chip tray value of chips within the chip tray, the method further comprising:

detecting, from the chip tray sensor, an initial chip tray value;

detecting, from the at least one RFID sensor, removal of the chip value from the scratchpad area after printing the voucher;

detecting, from the chip tray sensor, a subsequent chip tray value;

determining that a difference between the initial chip tray value and the subsequent chip tray value is not equal to the voucher value; and

transmitting an alert message indicating a discrepancy during ticket creation.

10. The method of claim 8 further comprising:

scanning, with a ticket reader, a voucher redeemable for a voucher value;

determining the voucher value of the voucher in response to the scanning; and

comparing a chip withdrawal value detected by the at least one RFID sensor to the voucher value.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the graphical user interface is configured to initiate one or more of a ticket-in action and a ticket-out action.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein receiving an initiation message indicating a ticket-out action includes receiving a ticket-out input from a dealer on the table management device.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the graphical user interface receives a confirmation input from a dealer that the detected chip value matches a manual count of chips positioned within the scratchpad area prior to printing the voucher.

The method of claim 13 further comprising capturing, via a security camera positioned to capture digital video of at least the scratchpad area, a digital image at least the scratchpad area upon receiving a cash-out completion input, the digital image includes an image of the voucher as placed in the scratchpad area by the dealer.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable media containing instructions embodied thereon which, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

receive an initiation message indicating a ticket-out action;

detect, from at least one RFID sensor, a chip value within a scratchpad area on a smart table;

cause to be displayed, to a dealer of a wagering game at the smart table, the detected chip value; and

print a voucher on a ticket printer at the smart table, the voucher having a voucher value equal to the detected chip value.

The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the at least one RFID sensor includes a chip tray sensor disposed beneath a chip tray of the smart table and configured to detect a chip tray value of chips within the chip tray, wherein the instructions cause the at least one processor to:

detect, from the chip tray sensor, an initial chip tray value;

detect, from the at least one RFID sensor, removal of the chip value from the scratchpad area after printing the voucher;

detect, from the chip tray sensor, a subsequent chip tray value;

determine that a difference between the initial chip tray value and the subsequent chip tray value is not equal to the voucher value; and

transmit an alert message indicating a discrepancy during ticket creation.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to:

scan, with a ticket reader, a voucher redeemable for a voucher value;

determine the voucher value of the voucher in response to the scanning; and

compare a chip withdrawal value detected by the at least one RFID sensor to the voucher value.

The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to provide a graphical user interface to the dealer on a table management device, the graphical user interface is configured to initiate one or more of a ticket-in action and a ticket-out action.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein receiving an initiation message indicating a ticket-out action includes receiving a ticket-out input from the dealer on the table management device.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein the graphical user interface receives a confirmation input from the dealer that the detected chip value matches a manual count of chips positioned within the scratchpad area prior to printing the voucher.
