Abstract

A system and method for providing user location-based multi-zone media. As a non-limiting example, various aspects of this disclosure provide a system and method that flexibly presents media content (e.g., audio content) to a user as the user moves throughout a premises. Claims (27)

1. A system, comprising:

a first wireless speaker; and

a second wireless speaker, wherein the first wireless speaker and the second wireless speaker are synchronized via a wireless signal, and wherein the synchronization is determined according to where a listener is located relative to the first wireless speaker and the second wireless speaker.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein a volume of the first wireless speaker is determined by a movement of the listener in a first location.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is operable to, according to a movement of the listener, reduce a first volume of the first wireless speaker and increase a second volume of the second wireless speaker.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein a volume of the first wireless speaker is determined by a presence of the listener in a first location.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein a presence of the listener is monitored according to a signal from a personal electronic device carried by the listener.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein a predicted location of the listener is determined according a schedule of the listener.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein a presence of the listener is monitored according to a home control device.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is activated by a voice command.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is operable to monitor a plurality of listeners.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is operable to prioritize a plurality of listeners.

11. A system, comprising:

a first wireless speaker in a first location, wherein:

the first wireless speaker is operable to wirelessly control a second wireless speaker,

the second wireless speaker is in a second location,

a first audio signal output from the first wireless speaker is delayed relative to a second audio signal output from the second wireless speaker, and

the first wireless speaker is operable to synchronize with the second wireless speaker via a wireless signal.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein a first volume of the first wireless speaker is determined by motion in the first location, and wherein a second volume of the second first wireless speaker is determined by motion in the second location.

13. The system of claim 12 , wherein when a listener moves from the first location to the second location, the system is operable to reduce the first volume and increase the second volume.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein a first volume of the first wireless speaker is determined by a presence of a listener in the first location.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein a presence of a listener is monitored according to a signal from a personal electronic device carried by the listener.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein a predicted location of a listener is determined according a schedule of the listener.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein a presence of a listener is monitored according to a home control device.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the system is activated by a voice command.

19. The system of claim 11 , wherein the system is operable to monitor a plurality of listeners.

20. The system of claim 19 , wherein each listener of a plurality of listeners is associated with a priority.
