Abstract

In a method of managing emergency management information within an observation platform an emergency management and response application is provisioned at an observation platform. The provisioning is administered by a cloud services platform and includes configuration and deployment of the emergency management and response application within the observation platform. A communicative connection is established, via a gateway of the cloud services platform, between the emergency management and response application and a system external to the observation platform. In response to receipt at the observation platform of a report of an emergency, operation of the emergency management and response application is triggered within the observation platform. Emergency management information is sent, via the emergency management and response application, to a group of users of the observation platform. The emergency management information includes at least one of an alert related to the emergency and instructions related to the emergency.

based on results of the analysis, sending, via the emergency management and response application, additional emergency management information to at least one user of the group of users.

7. The method as recited in claim 5 , further comprising:

based on results of the analysis, adjusting, by the observation platform, enterprise policy controlling the emergence management and response application.

8. A non-transitory computer-usable storage medium having instructions embodied therein that, when executed, cause a computer system to perform a method of managing emergency management information within an observation platform, the method comprising:

provisioning, at an observation platform, an emergency management and response application, wherein the provisioning is administered by a cloud services platform and includes configuration and deployment of the emergency management and response application within the observation platform;

establishing, via a gateway of the cloud services platform, a communicative connection between the emergency management and response application and a system external to the observation platform;

responsive to receipt at the observation platform of a report of an emergency, triggering operation of the emergency management and response application within the observation platform; and

sending, via the emergency management and response application, emergency management information to a group of users of the observation platform, wherein the emergency management information includes at least one of an alert related to the emergency and instructions related to the emergency.

9. An observation platform comprising:

a computer system;

a first communication device associated with a first user;

a second communication device associated with and communicatively coupled with the computer system; and

a plurality of additional communication devices, where each of the plurality of additional communication devices is associated with a different user of a plurality of additional users; and

wherein the computer system is configured to communicate with the first communication device and the plurality of additional communication devices via the second communication device and is further configured to:

provision, at the observation platform, an emergency management and response application, wherein the provisioning is administered by a cloud services platform in collaboration with the computer system and includes configuration and deployment of the emergency management and response application within the observation platform;

establish, via a gateway of the cloud services platform, a communicative connection between the emergency management and response application and a system external to the observation platform;

responsive to receipt at the observation platform of a report of an emergency, trigger operation of the emergency management and response application within the observation platform; and

send, via the emergency management and response application, emergency management information to a group of users of the observation platform, information, wherein the emergency management information includes at least one of an alert related to the emergency and instructions related to the emergency, wherein the group of users is selected from the first user and the plurality of additional users.

10. The observation platform of claim 9 , wherein the computer system is further configured to:

escalate the emergency management information to a larger audience based on a type of the emergency.

11. The observation platform of claim 9 , wherein the computer system is further configured to:

track responses of users of the group of users to the emergency management information; and

determine, based on the user responses, a status of an overall emergency response in comparison to a default emergency response plan configured into the emergency management and response application as part of an enterprise policy on the observation platform.

12. The observation platform of claim 9 , wherein the computer system is further configured to:
