Abstract

In some embodiments, a wireless device receives one or more messages including one or more configuration parameters of a cell. The one or more configuration parameters indicate physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources for transmission of a message A (MsgA) payload of a two-step random-access procedure of the cell. The wireless device transmits, via a first PUSCH resource of the PUSCH resources, the MsgA payload for the two-step random-access procedure. Based on completing the two-step random-access procedure, the wireless device releases the PUSCH resources.

Claims (30)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, one or more messages comprising one or more configuration parameters of a cell, wherein the one or more configuration parameters comprise physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource configurations indicating PUSCH resources for transmission of a message A (MsgA) payload of a contention-free two-step random-access procedure of the cell;

transmitting, via a first PUSCH resource of the PUSCH resources, the MsgA payload for the contention-free two-step random-access procedure; and

clearing, by the wireless device, the PUSCH resources for the MsgA payload in response to completing the contention-free two-step random-access procedure.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the completing the contention-free two-step random-access procedure comprises at least one of the following:

receiving a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), for a first random-access response, identified by a cell Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI);

receiving a second PDCCH, for a second random-access response, identified by a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI); or

reaching a maximum number of preamble transmissions on a preamble transmission counter.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the completing the contention-free two-step random-access procedure comprises receiving a PDCCH, for a random-access response, identified by a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI), and wherein the RNTI is a message B RNTI (MSGB-RNTI).

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the clearing the PUSCH resources comprises clearing a configuration of the PUSCH resources.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:

receiving, after the clearing the configuration, one or more second messages comprising one or more second configuration parameters indicating second PUSCH resources for transmission of a second MsgA payload of a second two-step random-access procedure of the cell; and

transmitting, via a second PUSCH resource of the second PUSCH resources, the second MsgA payload for the second two-step random-access procedure.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the clearing the PUSCH resources comprises stopping transmitting, via a PUSCH resource of the PUSCH resources, the MsgA payload.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the PUSCH resources comprise PUSCH occasions, and wherein the transmitting via the first PUSCH resource of the PUSCH resources comprises:

transmitting via a PUSCH occasion of the PUSCH occasions.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more configuration parameters further indicate one or more physical random-access channel (PRACH) resources.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising discarding the one or more PRACH resources based on the completing the contention-free two-step random-access procedure.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the clearing the PUSCH resources is further based on the discarding the one or more PRACH resources.

11. The method of claim 8 , further comprising selecting, for the contention-free two-step random-access procedure, a PRACH resource of the one or more PRACH resources, wherein the PRACH resource comprises:

a preamble; and

a PRACH occasion.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising transmitting the preamble via the PRACH occasion for the contention-free two-step random-access procedure.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the one or more configuration parameters further indicate one or more mappings between the one or more PRACH resources and the PUSCH resources.

14. The method of claim 13 , further comprising selecting the first PUSCH resource based on the one or more mappings, wherein the PRACH resource is mapped to the first PUSCH resource.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the PRACH resource is mapped to the first PUSCH resource comprises that the PRACH occasion of the PRACH resource is mapped to the first PUSCH resource.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the PRACH resource is mapped to the first PUSCH resource comprises that the preamble of the PRACH resource is mapped to the first PUSCH resource.

17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the completing the contention-free two-step random-access procedure comprises receiving a first PDCCH, identified by a C-RNTI, for a first random-access response, and wherein the receiving the first PDCCH for the first random-access response comprises receiving the first random-access response scheduled by the first PDCCH.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the first PDCCH comprises an uplink grant.

19. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell is an unlicensed cell.
