Omni-channel digital coupon clipping and redemption

1. A computer-implemented method for linking electronic coupons across a plurality of couponing channels, the method executed by one or more processors programmed to perform the method, the method comprising:

providing, by a server device to a client device of a user, a set of electronic coupons wherein each of the electronic coupons includes a coupon identifier and is associated with an offer, including providing at least one of the electronic coupons via a coupon alert notification to a mobile couponing application of the client device;

receiving, at the server device from the user, a selection of one of the set of electronic coupons;

receiving, at the server device, user identification information for retrieving a user profile;

storing, by the server device, the selected electronic coupon with the user profile for the user, wherein the user profile includes a plurality of electronic coupons obtained from a plurality of couponing channels;

when the user purchases a product,

receiving, by the server device, a product identifier for the product;

comparing, by the server device, the product to one or more products corresponding to the plurality of electronic coupons stored with the user profile; and

automatically applying, by the server device, the offer associated with an electronic coupon of the plurality of electronic coupons corresponding to the product in response to determining that a current date is within threshold range prior to an expiration date for the electronic coupon, wherein the threshold range is selected by the user; and

providing, by the server device, an order confirmation page to the user including an indication of the applied offer,

wherein the coupon alert notification is received from the server device and activates the mobile couponing application to cause the client device to enable connection to the server device to display the at least one electronic coupon.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

removing, by the server device, the electronic coupon corresponding to the product from the user profile for the user.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein comparing the product to one or more products corresponding to the plurality of electronic coupons stored with the user profile includes:

determining, by the server device, a product identifier associated with a coupon identifier for the electronic coupon corresponding to the product; and

comparing, by the server device, the determined product identifier to the product identifier for the product.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

providing, by the server device, a set of electronic coupons to the client device of the user.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein providing a set of electronic coupons includes:

identifying, by the server device, a subset of the electronic coupons as recommended electronic coupons for the user based on a history of electronic coupons clipped and redeemed by the user or other users; and

providing, by the server device, the recommended electronic coupons to the user.

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the set of electronic coupons are provided in at least one of: a search results page, a weekly ad page, a product detail page, or a shopping list.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of couponing channels include two or more of: a mobile application, a social networking webpage, a physical coupon, an email, a short message service (SMS) message, a retail webpage, a third-party web page, or a third-party application.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user purchases the product at an online store.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user purchases the product at a retail store and the coupon identifier for the electronic coupon corresponding to the product is transmitted to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal at the retail store.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the user identification information is received at the POS terminal from an identification device of the user via a magnetic stripe or an electronic circuit and the user identification information is transmitted to the server device.

11. A server device for linking electronic coupons across a plurality of couponing channels, the server device comprising:

one or more processors;

a communication network;

a non-transitory computer-readable memory coupled to the one or more processors, and the communication network, and storing thereon instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the server device to:

provide, via the communication network to a client device of a user, an electronic coupon via a coupon alert notification to a mobile couponing application of the client device, wherein the provided electronic coupon is associated with an offer and includes a coupon identifier;

receive a selection of the provided electronic coupon from the user;

receive user identification information from the user for retrieving a user profile;

store the provided electronic coupon with the user profile for the user, wherein the user profile includes a plurality of electronic coupons obtained from a plurality of couponing channels;

when the user purchases a product,

receive a product identifier for the product;

compare the product to one or more products corresponding to the plurality of electronic coupons stored with the user profile; and

automatically apply the offer associated with one of the plurality of electronic coupons corresponding to the product in response to determining that a current date is within threshold range prior to an expiration date for the electronic coupon, wherein the threshold range is selected by the user; and

provide, via the communication network, an order confirmation page to the user including an indication of the applied offer,

wherein the coupon alert notification is received from the server device and activates the mobile couponing application to cause the client device to enable connection to the server device to display the provided electronic coupon.

12. The server device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further cause the server device to:

remove the electronic coupon corresponding to the product from the user profile for the user.

13. The server device of claim 11 , wherein to compare the product to one or more products corresponding to the plurality of electronic coupons stored with the user profile, the instructions cause the server device to:

determine a product identifier associated with a coupon identifier for the electronic coupon corresponding to the product; and

compare the determined product identifier to the product identifier for the product.

14. The server device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions cause the server device to:

provide a set of electronic coupons to the client device of the user.

15. The server device of claim 14 , wherein to provide a set of electronic coupons to the client device of the user, the instructions cause the server device to:

identify a subset of the electronic coupons as recommended electronic coupons for the user based on a history of electronic coupons clipped and redeemed by the user or other users; and

provide the recommended electronic coupons to the user.

16. The server device of claim 14 , wherein the set of electronic coupons are provided in at least one of: a search results page, a weekly ad page, a product detail page, or a shopping list.

17. The server device of claim 11 , wherein the one or more couponing channels include at least one of: a mobile application, a social networking webpage, a physical coupon, an email, a short message service (SMS) message, a retail webpage, a third-party web page, or a third-party application.

18. The server device of claim 11 , wherein the user purchases the product at an online store.

19. The server device of claim 11 , wherein the user purchases the product at a retail store and the coupon identifier for the electronic coupon corresponding to the product is transmitted to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal at the retail store.

20. The server device of claim 19 , wherein the user identification information is received at the POS terminal from an identification device of the user via a magnetic stripe or an electronic circuit and the user identification information is transmitted to the one or more processors.
