Abstract

An exercise machine is disclosed. The exercise machine comprises a pancake motor. The exercise machine comprises a torque controller coupled to the pancake motor. The exercise machine comprises a high resolution encoder coupled to the pancake motor.

Claims (23)

1. An exercise machine comprising:

a frame that includes a front side and a back side;

a first arm; and

a second arm, wherein the first arm is located on a left side of the frame and the second arm is located on a right side of the frame, and wherein each arm is capable of being stowed at least in part by horizontally pivoting the arm from a respective side of the frame to the back side of the frame, wherein a stowed arm is obstructed from a front side view of the frame.

2. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm or the second arm are capable of being stowed at least in part by pivoting the first arm or the second arm vertically such that the first arm or the second arm are flush with the exercise machine.

3. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm or the second arm are capable of being stowed at least in part by causing the first arm or the second arm to be pivoted horizontally such that the first arm or the second arm is facing a back of the exercise machine.

4. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the exercise machine is capable of being wall mounted.

5. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the exercise machine is capable of being wall mounted using a wall bracket.

6. The exercise machine of claim 1 wherein the exercise machine is capable of being floor mounted.

7. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm is coupled to a first actuator via a first cable.

8. The exercise machine of claim 7 , wherein the second arm is coupled to a second actuator via a second cable.

9. The exercise machine of claim 8 , wherein a first motor drives the first cable and a second motor drives the second cable.

10. The exercise machine of claim 8 , wherein the first actuator is a first handle and the second actuator is a second handle.

11. The exercise machine of claim 8 , wherein the first actuator or the second actuator is a bar.

12. The exercise machine of claim 8 , wherein the first actuator or the second actuator is a strap.

13. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm and the second arm are capable of being vertically pivoted and horizontally pivoted.

14. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm and the second arm are capable of being locked at different positions when vertically pivoted.

15. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm and the second arm are capable of being locked at different positions when horizontally pivoted.

16. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein a first cable travels within the first arm and a second cable travels within the second arm.

17. The exercise machine of claim 1 , wherein the first arm positions a first cable at a first cable user origination point.

18. The exercise machine of claim 17 , wherein the first cable user origination point is configured to be above a user of the exercise machine.

19. The exercise machine of claim 17 , wherein the first cable user origination point is near a ground.

20. The exercise machine of claim 17 , wherein the second arm positions a second cable at a second cable user origination point.
