Abstract

Traditional information sharing will delete a file in order for stop sharing the file, and after shared a message, the message cannot be stopped for sharing. This invention discloses method and system for user posting (sharing) or un-posting (stop sharing) files, folders, and messages by deploying dynamic workspace technology. The stop sharing file or folder will not delete actual file or folder, so that the file or folder can be shared again to other users without requiring to recreate the file or folder. The un-post message operation facilitates a user to delete or withdraw his/her previously posted message from user interface (UI) of a recipient such that the user can avoid embarrassing if the message is not proper. Specially, a sharing control list is provided to user to control stop sharing files, otherwise, the user may do not remember how many files being shared with how many recipients.

causing to display the first control list on the first device to facilitate the first user performing task of stop sharing the first or second file that causes deleting the information of the first file from displayed on the first recipient's device or deleting the information of the second file from displayed on the second recipient's device.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said identifying information related to each request further comprises: identifying at least information related to the first user, a recipient, name and location of a file, and timestamp that are related to the sharing request.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein said identifying accessibility of each request further comprises: identifying permission of the first user, the recipient, the file, and storage spaces that are associated with the first user and recipient in respect to the sharing request.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein said processing each request according to the information and accessibility identified comprises: storing information, but not content, of the file into a designated workspace accessible to the recipient, and causing to display the stored information of the file on the recipient's device.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein said facilitating the first user through the first control list to control stop sharing further comprises: associating information in each entry on the control list with a stop sharing operating option for being used by the first user to perform said stop sharing.

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein said facilitating the first user through the first control list to perform task of stop sharing the first or second file comprises:

parsing a request for stop sharing the first or second file in response to the first user through the first control list submitting the request;

searching information of a file in the workspace accessible to the first or second recipient for matching with the information of the first or second file, and deleting the information of the file from the storage space upon the matching is found; and

causing to delete the information of the first or second file displayed on the first or second recipient's device according to the request.

7. A server comprising:

at least one hardware processor and one computer-readable storage device comprising program code which, when executed by the at least one hardware process, configures the server to facilitate sharing control list for users controlling stop sharing files that comprises:

causing displaying of a user interface (UI) on a first device, the UI displaying files can be shared;

receiving from the first device, submitted by a first user through the UI, at least a first request for sharing a first file with a first recipient and a second request for sharing a second file with a second recipient;

parsing each request by Identifying information and accessibility related to each request;

processing each request according to the information and accessibility identified, including to cause displaying information of the first file on the first recipient's device and displaying information of the second file on the second recipient's device;

creating, in respect to the processing of each request, exclusively for the first user a first sharing control list which comprises at least a first entry stored with information related to the first request and a second entry stored with information related to the second request; and

causing to display the first control list on the first device to facilitate the first user performing task of stop sharing the first or second file that causes deleting the information of the first file from displayed on the first recipient's device or deleting the information of the second file from displayed on the second recipient's device.

8. The server of claim 7 , wherein the server is remote to the first device and each recipient's device, or the server and the first device are a same device.

9. The server of claim 7 , wherein said identifying information related to each request comprises: identifying at least information related to the first user, a recipient, name and location of a file, and timestamp that are related to each sharing request.

10. The server of claim 9 , wherein said identifying accessibility of the request comprises: identifying permission of the first user, the recipient, the file, and workspaces that are associated with the first user and recipient.

11. The server of claim 10 , wherein said processing each request according to the information and accessibility identified comprises: storing information, but not content, of the file into a designated workspace accessible to said recipient, and causing to display the stored information of the file on the recipient's device.

12. The server of claim 7 , wherein said facilitating the first user through the first control list to control stop sharing further comprises: associating information in each entry on the first control list with a stop sharing operating option for being used by the first user to perform said stop sharing.

13. The server of claim 11 , wherein said facilitating the first user through the first control list performing task of stop sharing the first or second file comprises:

parsing a request for stop sharing the first or second file in response to the first user through the first control list submitting the request;

searching information of a file in the workspace accessible to the first or second recipient for matching with the information of the first or second file, and deleting the information of the file from the workspace upon the matching is found; and

causing to delete the information of the first or second file displayed on the first or second recipient's device.

14. The server of claim 7 , wherein said facilitating sharing control list for users controlling stop sharing files comprises: creating a second sharing control list exclusively for a second user to facilitate the second user through the second control list displayed on a second device to perform tasks of stop sharing a previously shared by the second user with one or more recipients among said users.
