Abstract

Embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for data channel mapping type and demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) configuration to enable a physical layer (L1) crosslink interference (CLI) measurement and reporting. Some embodiments are direct to a method of operating a base station (BS), where the method can include generating, by the BS, a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS), determining, by the BS, a position of the DM-RS in a first transmission slot, transmitting, by the BS, the DM-RS to a UE based on the determined position in the first transmission slot, processing, by the BS, a crosslink interference (CLI) measurement fed back based on the DM-RS, wherein the CLI measurement fed back is in a channel state information (CSI) report, and performing, by the BS, a CLI mitigation based on the CLI measurement.

Claims (45)

1. A method of operating a base station (BS) comprising:

generating, by the BS, a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS);

determining, by the BS, a position of the DM-RS in a first transmission slot;

transmitting, by the BS, the DM-RS to a user equipment (UE) based on the position in the first transmission slot;

processing, by the BS, a crosslink interference (CLI) measurement that is fed back based on the DM-RS, wherein the CLI measurement is associated with a channel state information (CSI) report; and

performing, by the BS, a CLI mitigation based on the CLI measurement;

wherein transmitting the DM-RS further includes transmitting in the first transmission slot that immediately precedes a second transmission slot in which a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) signal is transmitted.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating, by the BS, the PDSCH signal; and

transmitting, by the BS, the PDSCH signal to the UE after the transmission of the DM-RS.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising mapping, by the BS, the PDSCH signal based on a mapping process, wherein the mapping process supports a 1-symbol data transmission.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the CSI report further includes the CLI measurement associated with one of a layer-1 (L1)-received signal strength indicator (RSSI), L1-reference signal received power (RSRP), or L1-signal to noise and interference ratio (SINR) reporting.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the CSI report further includes the CLI measurement associated with a channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein transmitting the DM-RS further includes transmitting with an offset relative to a start of the first transmission slot in which the DM-RS is to be transmitted.

7. A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors of a base station (BS), cause the BS to perform operations comprising:

generating a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS);

determining a position of the DM-RS in a first transmission slot;

transmitting the DM-RS to a user equipment (UE) based on the position in the first transmission slot;

processing a crosslink interference (CLI) measurement that is fed back based on the DM-RS, wherein the CLI measurement is associated with a channel state information (CSI) report; and

performing a CLI mitigation based on the CLI measurement;

wherein transmitting the DM-RS further includes transmitting in the first transmission slot that immediately precedes a second transmission slot in which a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) signal is transmitted.

8. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7 , the operations further comprising:

generating the PDSCH signal; and

transmitting the PDSCH signal to the UE after the transmission of the DM-RS.

9. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , the operations further comprising mapping the PDSCH signal based on a mapping process, wherein the mapping process supports a 1-symbol data transmission.

10. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the CSI report further includes the CLI measurement associated with one of a layer 1 (L1)-received signal strength indicator (RSSI), L1-reference signal received power (RSRP), or L1-signal to noise and interference ratio (SINR) reporting.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the C SI report further includes the CLI measurement associated with a channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7 , the operations further comprising transmitting with an offset relative to a start of the first transmission slot in which the DM-RS is to be transmitted.

13. A base station (BS), comprising:

a processor circuitry to:

generate a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS);

determine a position of the DM-RS in a first transmission slot;

process a crosslink interference (CLI) measurement that is fed back based on the DM-RS, wherein the CLI measurement is associated with a channel state information (CSI) report; and

perform a CLI mitigation based on the CLI measurement; and

a radio frequency integrated circuit, coupled to the processor circuitry, to transmit the DM-RS to a user equipment (UE) based on the position in the first transmission slot;

wherein transmitting the DM-RS further includes transmitting in the first transmission slot that immediately precedes a second transmission slot in which a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) signal is transmitted.

14. The BS of claim 13 , wherein:

the processor circuitry is to generate the PDSCH signal; and

the radio frequency integrated circuit is to transmit the PDSCH signal to the UE after the transmission of the DM-RS.

15. The BS of claim 13 , wherein the CSI report further includes the CLI measurement associated with one of a layer 1 (L1)-received signal strength indicator (RSSI), L1-reference signal received power (RSRP), or L1-signal to noise and interference ratio (SINR) reporting.

16. The BS of claim 13 , wherein the CSI report further includes the CLI measurement associated with a channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting.

17. The BS of claim 13 , wherein the radio frequency integrated circuit is to transmit with an offset relative to a start of the first transmission slot in which the DM-RS is to be transmitted.

18. The method of claim 1 , wherein the DM-RS comprises one or two symbols.

19. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the DM-RS comprises one or two symbols.

20. The BS of claim 13 , wherein the DM-RS comprises one or two symbols.
