Abstract

An approach is described for an access node configured for ultra-reliable and low latency (URLLC) transmission using multi-transmission reception point (TRP) to a UE. The access node includes processor circuitry and radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry is configured to allocate resource blocks into a first portion and a second portion based on a resource indication value (RIV), a length of contiguously allocated resource blocks (LRBS) and a fraction. The radio front end circuitry is configured to transmit the first portion to the UE via a first transmission reception point (TRP 1 ), and transmit the second portion to the UE via a second transmission reception point (TRP 2 ).

Claims (29)

1. A method by an access node for ultra-reliable and low latency (URLLC) transmission using multi-transmission reception point (TRP) to a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:

allocating, within an active bandwidth part, virtual resource blocks into a first portion and a second portion based on a resource indication value (RIV), a length of contiguously allocated resource blocks (LRBS) and a fraction;

transmitting, using the first portion to the UE via a first transmission reception point (TRP 1 ) associated with a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, and

transmitting the second portion to the UE via a second transmission reception point (TRP 2 ) associated with a second TCI state.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the fraction is one-half, one-third or one-quarter.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the RIV corresponds to a starting virtual resource block.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second portion is a remainder of the virtual resource blocks after allocation of the first portion of the virtual resource blocks.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the allocating virtual resource blocks further includes allocating into the first portion, the second portion and a third portion, and wherein the further allocating is further based on a second fraction.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the fraction is one-half, one-third or one-quarter, and wherein the second fraction is one-third or one-quarter.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing an indication of the allocated virtual resource blocks using a single downlink control information (DCI).

8. An access node comprising:

processor circuitry configured to allocate, within an active bandwidth part, virtual resource blocks into a first portion and a second portion based on a resource indication value (RIV), a length of contiguously allocated resource blocks (LRBS) and a fraction; and

radio front end circuitry configured to:

transmit, using the first portion to a user equipment (UE) via a first transmission reception point (TRP 1 ) associated with a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, and transmit the second portion to the UE via a second transmission reception point (TRP 2 ) associated with a second TCI state.

9. The access node of claim 8 , wherein the fraction is one-half, one-third or one-quarter.

10. The access node of claim 8 , wherein the RIV corresponds to a starting virtual resource block.

11. The access node of claim 8 , wherein the second portion is a remainder of the virtual resource blocks after allocation of the first portion of the virtual resource blocks.

12. The access node of claim 8 , wherein the processor circuitry is further configured to allocate the virtual resource blocks into the first portion, the second portion and a third portion, and wherein the further allocation is based on a second fraction.

13. The access node of claim 12 , wherein the fraction is one-half, one-third or one-quarter, and wherein the second fraction is one-third or one-quarter.

14. The access node of claim 8 , wherein the processor circuitry is further configured to provide an indication of the allocated virtual resource blocks using a single downlink control information (DCI).

15. A non-transitory computer-readable media comprising instructions to cause an electronic device, upon execution of the instructions by one or more processors of the electronic device, to perform one of more elements of a method, the method comprising:

allocating, within an active bandwidth part, virtual resource blocks into a first portion and a second portion based on a resource indication value (RIV), a length of contiguously allocated resource blocks (LRBS) and a fraction;

transmitting, using the first portion to a user equipment (UE) via a first transmission reception point (TRP 1 ) associated with a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, and

transmitting the second portion to the UE via a second transmission reception point (TRP 2 ) associated with a second TCI state.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the fraction is one-half, one-third or one-quarter.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the RIV corresponds to a starting virtual resource block.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the second portion is a remainder of the virtual resource blocks after allocation of the first portion of the virtual resource blocks.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein the allocating virtual resource blocks further includes allocating into the first portion, the second portion and a third portion, and wherein the further allocating is further based on a second fraction.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the fraction is one-half, one-third or one-quarter, and wherein the second fraction is one-third or one-quarter.
