Abstract

Methods and apparatuses for Sidelink (SL) communication are disclosed herein. A method for SL communication performed by a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) may comprise determining to transmit Sidelink Control Information (SCI) over a Physical Sidelink Control Channel (PSCCH). The method may further comprise selecting one or more sub-channels from a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH) in which to allocate time and frequency resources for the PSCCH. The method may further comprise allocating time and frequency resources within the PSCCH in which to transmit the SCI. The allocation of time and frequency resources may be based on at least one of an SCI format type, a Layer 1 (L1) Identifier (ID), a priority, or a Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. The method may further comprise transmitting the SCI over the determined time and frequency resources.

Claims (24)

1. A method for Sidelink communication performed by a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

selecting one or more sub-channels from a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH) in which to allocate time and frequency resources for a Physical Sidelink Control Channel (PSCCH), wherein the selection of the one or more sub-channels is based on at least one of a Sidelink Control Information (SCI) format, a traffic type, a WTRU identifier (ID), a Quality of Service (QOS) requirement, or Channel State Information (CSI) feedback;

allocating the time and frequency resources within the PSCCH in which to transmit the SCI, wherein the allocation of time and frequency resources is based on at least one of the SCI format type, the traffic type, the WTRU ID, or the Quality of Service (QOS) requirement; and

transmitting the SCI over the allocated time and frequency resources.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the PSCCH is a first PSCCH, and the method further comprises transmitting the SCI over the first PSCCH and a second PSCCH.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the transmission of the SCI over the first PSCCH and the second PSCCH is performed based on a QoS requirement.

4. The method of claim 2 , further comprising selecting, based on an association of the first PSCCH and the second PSCCH, a sub-channel of the PSSCH in which to allocate time and frequency resources for the second PSCCH; and allocating second time and frequency resources within the PSCCH in which to transmit the SCI.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the SCI transmitted over the first PSCCH includes an indication of the second time and frequency resources within the PSCCH.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the allocation of the time and frequency resources within the selected sub-channels for transmitting the SCI is based on a priority value, and the method further comprises determining the priority value based on at least one of a 5G QoS Identifier (5QI) or a Minimum Communication Range (MCR) requirement.

7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising prioritizing a plurality of transmissions based on the determined priority value.

8. The method of claim 2 , wherein the SCI transmitted over the first PSCCH includes a portion of a WTRU ID, and the SCI transmitted over the second PSCCH includes indicating a respective remaining portion of the WTRU ID.

9. A Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor;

the processor configured to select one or more sub-channels from a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH) in which to allocate time and frequency resources for a Physical Sidelink Control Channel (PSCCH), wherein the selection of the one or more sub-channels is based on at least one of a Sidelink Control Information (SCI) format, a traffic type, a WTRU identifier (ID), a Quality of Service (QOS) requirement, or Channel State Information (CSI) feedback;

the processor further configured to allocate the time and frequency resources within the PSCCH in which to transmit the SCI, wherein the allocation of time and frequency resources is based on at least one of the SCI format type, the traffic type, the WTRU ID, or the Quality of Service (QOS) requirement; and

the transceiver configured to transmit the SCI over the allocated time and frequency resources.

10. The WTRU of claim 9 , wherein the PSCCH is a first PSCCH, and the transceiver is further configured to transmit the SCI over the first PSCCH and a second PSCCH.

11. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the transceiver and the processor are further configured to transmit the SCI over the first PSCCH and the second PSCCH based on a QoS requirement.

12. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to: select, based on an association of the first PSCCH and the second PSCCH, a sub-channel of the PSSCH in which to allocate time and frequency resources for the second PSCCH; and allocate second time and frequency resources within the PSCCH in which to transmit the SCI.

13. The WTRU of claim 12 , wherein the SCI transmitted over the first PSCCH includes an indication of the second time and frequency resources within the PSCCH.

14. The WTRU of claim 9 , wherein the allocation of the time and frequency resources within the selected sub-channels for transmitting the SCI is based on a priority value, and the processor is further configured to determine the priority value based on at least one of a 5G QOS Identifier (5QI) or a Minimum Communication Range (MCR) requirement.

15. The WTRU of claim 14 , wherein the processor is further configured to prioritize a plurality of transmissions based on the determined priority value.

16. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the SCI transmitted over the first PSCCH includes a portion of a WTRU ID, and the SCI transmitted over the second PSCCH includes a respective remaining portion of the WTRU ID.
