Abstract

A merchandising system includes a rail having a base. A first wall extends from the base and has a first engagement surface. A second wall extends from the base and includes a second engagement surface facing the first engagement surface and spaced apart from the first engagement surface by a channel. The merchandising system also includes a cooperating member including a first portion received within the channel and a second portion extending from the second wall of the rail. The first portion is operable to selectively engage the first engagement surface and the second engagement surface.

Claims (21)

1. A merchandising system comprising:

a rail including a bottom wall, a first wall extending from the bottom wall and having a first engagement surface, and a second wall extending from the bottom wall and including a second engagement surface facing the first engagement surface and spaced apart from the first engagement surface by a channel; and

a cooperating member including a base extending from a first end to a second end and defining an upper surface, the base including (i) a first portion defining a chamber below the upper surface adjacent to the first end, the chamber receiving a resilient member configured to be selectively disposed within the channel between the first engagement surface and the second engagement surface and (ii) a second portion including the upper surface and extending an opposite direction than the first portion from the second wall of the rail, the resilient member operable to continuously bias the first portion to engage each of the first engagement surface and the second engagement surface.

2. The merchandising system of claim 1 , wherein the resilient member is operable to bias the first portion into engagement with the first engagement surface and the second engagement surface.

3. The merchandising system of claim 1 , wherein the first wall includes a flange spaced apart from the bottom wall and extending towards the second wall.

4. The merchandising system of claim 3 , wherein the first portion is received between the flange and the bottom wall.

5. The merchandising system of claim 3 , wherein the first engagement surface includes a plurality of first teeth disposed between the bottom wall and the flange.

6. The merchandising system of claim 5 , wherein the first portion includes an engagement mechanism including a plurality of second teeth resiliently engaged with the plurality of the first teeth.

7. The merchandising system of claim 6 , wherein the second teeth are received between the flange and the bottom wall.

8. The merchandising system of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of second teeth are biased into engagement with the plurality of the first teeth by the resilient member.

9. The merchandising system of claim 1 , wherein the cooperating member includes a groove configured to receive the second wall of the rail.

10. A merchandising system comprising:

a rail including a bottom wall, a first wall extending from the bottom wall and having a first engagement surface, and a second wall extending from the bottom wall and including a second engagement surface facing the first engagement surface and spaced apart from the first engagement surface by a channel; and

a cooperating member including a base extending from a first end to a second end and defining an upper surface, the base including (i) a first portion defining a chamber below the upper surface adjacent to the first end, the chamber receiving an engagement mechanism having a resilient member configured to be selectively disposed within the channel and configured to apply a first biasing force to the first engagement surface in a first direction and a counter biasing force to the second engagement surface in a second direction facing away from the first direction and (ii) a second portion extending from the second wall of the rail, the first portion including the resilient member being operable between a first configuration to restrict movement of the cooperating member along the rail and a second configuration to permit movement of the cooperating member along the rail.

11. The merchandising system of claim 10 , wherein the first wall includes a flange spaced apart from the bottom wall and extending towards the second wall.

12. The merchandising system of claim 11 , wherein the first portion is received between the flange and the bottom wall.

13. The merchandising system of claim 11 , wherein the first engagement surface includes a plurality of first teeth disposed between the bottom wall and the flange.

14. The merchandising system of claim 13 , the engagement mechanism includes a plurality of second teeth resiliently engaged with the plurality of the first teeth.

15. The merchandising system of claim 14 , wherein the second teeth are received between the flange and the bottom wall.

16. The merchandising system of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of second teeth are biased into engagement with the plurality of the first teeth by the resilient member.

17. The merchandising system of claim 10 , wherein the cooperating member includes a groove configured to receive the second wall of the rail.
