Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed for determining an engagement level of a user interacting with an electronic program, comprising receiving or determining a decision node tree, each node in the decision node tree corresponding to a user decision point in the electronic program, determining a number of levels in the decision node tree, determining a user traversed count comprising a number of levels the user has traversed in the decision node tree, and determining the engagement level of the user with the electronic program based upon the user traversed count and the number of levels in the decision node tree.

Claims (68)

1. A computer-implemented method for determining an engagement level of a user interacting with an electronic software program, the method comprising:

receiving a node tree of the electronic software program, each node in the node tree corresponding to a user decision point in the node tree;

displaying on an electronic device executing the electronic software program, an augmented reality based on a point of the user in the node tree, the augmented reality including a first promotional material;

tracking by the electronic device, user eye behavior metrics, wherein the user eye behavior metrics include a view time or a view rate of the first promotional material by the user;

determining the engagement level of the user with the first promotional material based upon the eye behavior metrics of the user, wherein the engagement level of the user is further determined based upon a ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree; and

displaying, on the electronic device executing the electronic software program, a second promotional material based on the determined engagement level of the user with the first promotional material.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the engagement level of the user further comprises:

determining a number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program; and

determining the engagement level of the user based on the number of choices the user has made, a current node depth, and a total node depth in the decision node tree.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the engagement level of the user further comprises:

determining a ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree;

determining a number of choices the user has made in the electronic program;

determining whether the user reached an end of the decision node tree; and

determining an average of the number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program, whether the user reached the end of the decision node tree, and the ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

tracking one or more user paths taken by the user through the electronic software program; and

recommending a user path to the user based upon the one or more user paths taken by the user.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

tracking one or more user paths taken through the decision node tree by one or more users of the electronic software program;

determining a node in the decision node tree and/or path of the one or more user paths of the decision node tree associated with a predetermined level of user disengagement; and

removing the node in the decision node tree and/or path of the one or more user paths associated with the predetermined level of user disengagement.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

recommending, based on engagement histories, a choice to the user.

7. A system for determining an engagement level of a user interacting with an electronic software program, comprising:

a data storage device storing instructions for determining an engagement level of a user interacting with an electronic software program; and

one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform a method comprising:

receiving, at the one or more processors, a node tree of the electronic software program, each node in the node tree corresponding to a user decision point in the node tree;

displaying, by the one or more processors, on an electronic device executing the electronic software program, an augmented reality based on a point of the user in the node tree, the augmented reality including a first promotional material;

tracking, at the one or more processors, by the electronic device, user eye behavior metrics, wherein the user eye behavior metrics include a view time or a view rate of the first promotion material by the user;

determining, at the one or more processors, the engagement level of the user with the first promotional material based upon the eye behavior metrics of the user, wherein the engagement level of the user is further determined based upon a ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree; and

displaying, by the one or more processors, on the electronic device executing the electronic software program, a second promotional material based on the determined engagement level of the user with the first promotional material.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein determining the engagement level of the user further comprises:

determining a number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program; and

determining the engagement level of the user based on the number of choices the user has made, a current node depth, and a total node depth in the node tree.

9. The system of claim 7 , wherein determining the engagement level of the user further comprises:

determining a ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree;

determining a number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program;

determining whether the user reached an end of the decision node tree; and

determining an average of the number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program, whether the user reached the end of the decision node tree, and the ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree.

10. The system of claim 7 , the instructions performing the method further comprising:

tracking one or more user paths taken by the user through the electronic software program; and

recommending a user path to the user based upon the one or more user paths taken by the user.

11. The system of claim 7 , the instructions performing the method further comprising:

tracking one or more user paths taken through the decision node tree by one or more users of the electronic software program;

determining a node in the decision node tree and/or path of the one or more user paths of the decision node tree associated with a predetermined level of user disengagement; and

removing the node in the decision node tree and/or path of the one or more user paths associated with the predetermined level of user disengagement.

12. The system of claim 7 , the instructions performing the method further comprising:

recommending, based on engagement histories, a choice to the user.

13. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the processors to perform a method for determining an engagement level of a user interacting with an electronic software program, the method comprising:

receiving, at the one or more processors, a node tree of the electronic software program, each node in the node tree corresponding to a user decision point in the node tree;

displaying, by the one or more processors, on an electronic device executing the electronic software program, an augmented reality based on a point of the user in the node tree, the augmented reality including a first promotional material;

tracking, at the one or more processors, by the electronic device, user eye behavior metrics, wherein the user eye behavior metrics include a view time or a view rate of the first promotional material by the user;

determining, at the one or more processors, the engagement level of the user with the first promotional material upon the eye behavior metrics of the user, wherein the engagement level of the user is further determined based upon a ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree; and

displaying, by the one or more processors, on the electronic device executing the electronic software program, a second promotional material based on the determined engagement level of the user with the first promotional material.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein determining the engagement level of the user further comprises:

determining a number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program; and

determining the engagement level of the user based on the number of choices the user has made, a current node depth, and a total node depth in the decision node tree.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , the method further comprising:

determining a ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree;

determining a number of choices the user has made in the electronic program;

determining whether the user reached an end of the decision node tree; and

determining an average of the number of choices the user has made in the electronic software program, whether the user reached the end of the decision node tree, and the ratio of a current node depth to a total node depth in the decision node tree.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , the method further comprising:

tracking one or more user paths taken through the decision node tree by one or more users of the electronic software program;

determining a node in the decision node tree and/or path of the one or more user paths of the decision node tree associated with a predetermined level of user disengagement; and

removing the node in the decision node tree and/or path of the one or more user paths associated with the predetermined level of user disengagement.

17. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , the method further comprising:

recommending, based on engagement histories, a choice to the user.
