Abstract

A component of an electronic vapor provision device with a reservoir for storing source liquid, an atomizer for vaporizing source liquid from the reservoir and delivering vapor into an air flow path through the device, and an electrical power supply for providing electrical power to the atomizer comprises an absorbent element to collect source liquid escaped from the reservoir and located so as to be upstream of the atomizer with respect to an air flow direction along the air flow path when the component is assembled into the electronic vapor provision device.

Claims (21)

1. A component of an electronic vapor provision device, the electronic vapor provision device having a reservoir for storing source liquid, an atomizer for vaporizing source liquid from the reservoir and delivering vapor into an air flow path through the electronic vapor provision device, and an electrical power supply for providing electrical power to the atomizer, the component comprising:

an absorbent element to collect source liquid escaped from the reservoir, the absorbent element located so as to be downstream of the atomizer with respect to an air flow direction along the air flow path when the component is assembled into the electronic vapor provision device, the absorbent element comprising cellulose.

2. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the absorbent element is located so as to be between the atomizer and the electrical power supply in the assembled electronic vapor provision device along a liquid flow path from the atomizer to the electrical power supply.

3. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the absorbent element inhibits the escaped liquid from leaving the component.

4. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the absorbent element inhibits the escaped liquid from reaching the electrical power supply.

5. The component according to claim 1 , wherein h the electrical power supply comprises a battery.

6. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the electrical power supply comprises control circuitry for controlling the provision of electrical power to the atomizer.

7. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the absorbent element is located adjacent to an end face of the component.

8. A component according to claim 7 , wherein the end face of the component is at an end of the component connectable to another component of the electronic vapor provision device.

9. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the component is a cartomizer component housing the reservoir and the atomizer and is connectable to a power component housing the electrical power supply, and the absorbent element is located so as to inhibit the escaped liquid from leaving the cartomizer component, and also from reaching the electrical power supply when the cartomizer component is connected to the power component.

10. The component according to claim 9 , wherein the absorbent element is mounted within an end cap of the cartomizer component which is configured to allow electrical contact with an electrical power supply housed in a power component of the electronic vapor provision device to which the component is connectable.

11. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the component is a power component housing the electrical power supply and connectable to a cartomizer component housing the reservoir and atomizer, and the absorbent element is located so as to inhibit the escaped liquid from reaching the electrical power supply when the power component is connected to the cartomizer component.

12. The component according to claim 1 , wherein the absorbent element has a planar shape and a thickness orthogonal to a plane of the planar shape in the range of 1 mm to 10 mm.

13. The component according to claim 1 , wherein a volume of the absorbent element increases by not more than 20% when fully saturated.

14. An electronic vapor provision device comprising the component according to claim 1 .

15. The electronic vapor provision device according to claim 14 , in which the component is separably connectable to another component of the electronic vapor provision device.

16. The electronic vapor provision device according to claim 14 , wherein the component is a permanent component of the electronic vapor provision device.

17. The component according to claim 1 , wherein a volume of the absorbent element increases by not more than 10% when fully saturated.

18. The component according to claim 1 , wherein a volume of the absorbent element increases by not more than 5% when fully saturated.

19. The component according to claim 1 , wherein a volume of the absorbent element increases by not more than 3% when fully saturated.

20. The component according to claim 1 , wherein a volume of the absorbent element increases by not more than 1% when fully saturated.
