Abstract

In one aspect, a system is provided for administering a formulated food solution. The system includes a syringe body having a collar, a barrel, and at least one protrusion. The system includes a handle configured to be hung on a support and a holder body connected to the handle. The holder body has a central opening sized to receive the syringe body. The holder body includes at least one alignment portion configured to engage at least one protrusion of the syringe body and resist turning of the syringe body in the central opening of the holder body.

Claims (19)

1. A syringe body holder comprising:

a handle configured to be hung on a support;

a body connected to the handle and having a central opening for receiving a barrel of a syringe body, the body having an upper frustoconical wall portion and a lower annular wall portion for receiving the syringe body barrel therethrough, the body configured to keep the syringe body upright with the handle hung on the support;

a first alignment portion extending laterally from a portion of the upper frustoconical wall portion and located above the lower annular wall portion, the alignment portion forming a pocket for receiving a projection of the syringe body to inhibit the syringe body from rotating within the central opening of the body; and

a second alignment portion for receiving a second projection of the syringe body, the second alignment portion forming a through opening on a side of the body sized to receive the second projection of the syringe body, wherein the through opening has a first portion in the upper frustoconical wall portion and a second portion in the lower annular wall portion.

2. The syringe body holder of claim 1 , wherein the pocket includes a first side wall and a second side wall connected by a floor, the floor supporting the projection of the syringe body and the first and second side walls inhibiting substantial rotation of the syringe body.

3. The syringe body holder of claim 1 , wherein the body includes at least one flat flange extending radially outward from the upper frustoconical wall portion and the handle includes an end portion connected to the at least one flat flange and extending away from the at least one flat flange generally normal to the at least one flat flange.

4. The syringe body holder of claim 1 , wherein the handle is elongated and includes a first end portion configured to be releasably connected to the body and an opposite, second end portion configured to be releasably connected to the body.

5. The syringe body holder of claim 1 , the syringe body further comprising a lid movable between a closed position wherein the lid covers an opening of the syringe body and an open position wherein the lid is spaced from the opening of the syringe body.

6. The syringe body holder of claim 1 , further comprising third and fourth alignment portions for receiving third and fourth projections of the syringe body, the first and third alignment portions being adjacent one another and opposite the second and fourth alignment portions.

7. A system for administering a solution, the system comprising:

a syringe body including a collar and a barrel;

first and second longitudinally aligned and longitudinally spaced apart projections of the syringe body;

a handle configured to be hung on a support;

a holder body connected to the handle and having a central opening sized to receive the syringe body, the body having an upper frustoconical wall portion and a lower annular wall portion for receiving the syringe body barrel therethrough, the body configured to keep the syringe body upright with the handle hung on the support; and

a first alignment portion extending laterally from a portion of the upper frustoconical wall portion and located above the lower annular wall portion, comprising a pocket for receiving the first projection of the syringe body, and a second alignment portion longitudinally aligned with the first alignment portion for receiving the second projection of the syringe body to inhibit the syringe body from rotating within the central opening of the body, the second alignment portion including a through hole through at least the annular portion of the lower annular wall of the holder body.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the central opening of the body extends along a central, longitudinal axis and the body includes a second alignment portion including at least one through opening extending laterally through a wall of the body sized to receive a second projection of the syringe body.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the second projection is a lower projection extending from the barrel of the syringe body.

10. The system of claim 7 , wherein the first projection is an upper projection extending from the collar of the syringe body.
