Abstract

A static mitigation end cap, for an architectural covering is provided. The covering may include a head rail having an end cap. The end cap may include housing extending along a longitudinal length of the head rail and defining a chamber. The end cap may include a printed circuit board received within the chamber and configured to control a motor assembly operatively connected to the at least one end cap. The end cap may include an actuation member slidably coupled with the end cap for selective engagement with the printed circuit board.

Claims (38)

1. An architectural covering assembly comprising:

a head rail;

an end cap having a sidewall and coupled to the head rail;

a motor assembly coupled to the end cap;

a printed circuit board configured to control the motor assembly; and

an elongated actuation member having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the elongated actuation member slidably disposed in a channel formed in the sidewall of the end cap, the first end of the elongated actuation member disposed adjacent the printed circuit board, such that user force on the second end causes the first end to engage the printed circuit board.

The architectural covering assembly of claim 1 , wherein the sidewall has a first side and a second side opposite the first side, the channel formed in the second side, the elongated actuation member disposed in the channel such that an outer surface of the elongated actuation member is flush with the second side.

3. The architectural covering assembly of claim 2 , wherein the motor assembly is coupled to and extends from the first side of the sidewall.

4. The architectural covering assembly of claim 1 , wherein the printed circuit board includes a switch, the first end of the elongated actuation member to engage the switch.

The architectural covering assembly of claim 4 , wherein the printed circuit board includes a light on or adjacent the switch, and wherein the elongated actuation member is a light pipe, such that illumination from the light is transmitted through the elongated actuation member from the first end to the second end.

6. The architectural covering assembly of claim 1 , wherein the elongated actuation member has a middle portion between the first end and the second end, the first end of the elongated actuation member being wider than the middle portion.

7. The architectural covering assembly of claim 1 , wherein the end cap comprises a chamber, and wherein the printed circuit board is disposed in the chamber.

8. The architectural covering assembly of claim 7 , wherein the printed circuit board is disposed facing downwardly or upwardly in the chamber, and wherein the first end of the elongated actuation member protrudes into the chamber to engage the printed circuit board.

9. The architectural covering assembly of claim 8 , wherein a first portion of the printed circuit board includes a switch or a button that engages the elongated actuation member and that separates the elongated actuation member from a remaining portion of the printed circuit board.

The architectural covering assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first end of the elongated actuation member is located adjacent a top rim of the end cap, and wherein the second end of the elongated actuation member protrudes away from, is flush with, or is recessed relative to a bottom surface of the end cap.

The architectural covering assembly of claim 1 , wherein the channel and the elongated actuation member are sized such that a portion of the elongated actuation member disposed in the channel sits substantially flush with an outer face of the end cap, wherein the portion is between the first end and the second end.

12. An architectural covering comprising:

a head rail;

a shade;

an end cap having a sidewall and coupled to the head rail;

a motor assembly coupled to the end cap;

a printed circuit board configured to control the motor assembly; and

an elongated actuation member having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the elongated actuation member slidably disposed in a channel formed in the sidewall of the end cap, the first end of the elongated actuation member disposed adjacent the printed circuit board, such that user force on the second end causes the first end to engage the printed circuit board.

13. The architectural covering of claim 12 , further comprising:

a control cable connected with the motor assembly and the printed circuit board, wherein the control cable is routed through a first aperture formed in the sidewall of the end cap.

14. The architectural covering of claim 13 , further comprising:

a power cable connected with the motor assembly and the printed circuit board, wherein the power cable is routed through a second aperture formed in the sidewall of the end cap.

15. The architectural covering of claim 14 , wherein a portion of the power cable is disposed in a second channel formed in the sidewall of the end cap.

16. The architectural covering of claim 12 , further comprising:

a power cable assembly operatively connected with the motor assembly and the printed circuit board, wherein the power cable assembly and the elongated actuation member are disposed on opposite sides of the end cap.

17. An architectural covering assembly comprising:

a head rail;

an end cap having a sidewall coupled to the head rail;

a printed circuit board disposed in the end cap and configured to control a motor assembly; and

an elongated actuation member having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the elongated actuation member slidably disposed in a channel formed in the sidewall of the end cap, the first end of the elongated actuation member disposed adjacent the printed circuit board, such that user force on the second end causes the first end to engage the printed circuit board.

18. The architectural covering assembly of claim 17 , wherein the sidewall of the end cap comprises a set of tabs configured to slidably retain the elongated actuation member.

19. The architectural covering assembly of claim 18 , wherein the elongated actuation member comprises a set of protrusions extending substantially laterally to main body of the elongated actuation member and configured to slidably engage with the set of tabs.

20. The architectural covering assembly of claim 17 , wherein the end cap comprises an aperture that is axially aligned with the headrail, and wherein the elongated actuation member extends at least partially over the aperture.
