Microbial hyperswarmers and uses thereof
Bacterial hyperswarmers are disclosed for treatment, prevention and diagnosis of conditions such as intestinal inflammation.
1. A method of isolating a single bacterial strain from a complex bacterial mix in a fecal material, the method comprising
isolating bacterial hyperswarmers as a single bacterial strain from the fecal material on a plate agar assay under aerobic conditions to provide isolated bacterial hyperswarmers; and
propagating the isolated bacterial hyperswarmers in culture to isolate a single bacterial strain.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the fecal material is from an animal model of inflammation or from an animal with an intestinal inflammation.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the animal is a human.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the human has irritable bowel disease.
5. The method of claim 2 , wherein the animal is a farm animal.
