Abstract

A vehicle includes a vehicle frame, a vehicle body and elastic seal. The vehicle body is supported on the vehicle frame. The vehicle body has a cabin and a cargo box. The cabin houses one or more vehicle seats of the vehicle. The cabin and the cargo box are separately mounted on the vehicle frame and being separated by a gap. The elastic seal movably connects the cabin and the cargo box and covers the gap.

Claims (39)

1. A vehicle comprising:

a vehicle frame;

a vehicle body that is supported on the vehicle frame, the vehicle body having a cabin and a cargo box, the cabin housing one or more vehicle seats of the vehicle, the cabin and the cargo box being separately mounted on the vehicle frame and being separated by a gap;

a cargo box frame having a pair of mounting rails that are mounted to a pair of side panels of the cargo box, the cargo box frame further having a pair of crossbar siderails; and

an elastic seal that movably connects the cabin and the cargo box and covers the gap, the elastic seal includes a first receiving portion, a second receiving portion and a corrugated portion extending between the first and second receiving portions, a top portion of the second receiving portion receiving a flange of the cargo box frame.

2. The vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein

the elastic seal is disposed over sheet metal of a rear wall of the cabin and sheet metal of a front wall of the cargo box.

3. The vehicle according to claim 2 , wherein

the rear wall of the cabin includes a first flange that is received by the first receiving portion of the elastic seal, and the front wall of the cargo box includes a second flange that is received by a bottom portion of the second receiving portion of the elastic seal.

4. The vehicle according to claim 3 , wherein

the elastic seal having an outer border including an upper portion and a bottom portion, the upper portion having a maximum width that is larger than a maximum width of the bottom portion.

5. The vehicle according to claim 4 , wherein

the upper portion of the elastic seal connects the rear wall of the cabin and the cargo box frame.

6. The vehicle according to claim 5 , wherein

the bottom portion of the elastic seal connects the front wall of the cargo box and the rear wall of the cabin.

7. The vehicle according to claim 6 , wherein

the outer border of the elastic seal defines a passthrough between the cabin and the cargo box, the passthrough connecting a floor of the cargo box and a floor of the cabin.

8. The vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein

the elastic seal movably connects the cargo box frame to the rear wall of the cabin.

9. The vehicle according to claim 8 , wherein

the elastic seal having an outer border including an upper portion and a bottom portion, the upper portion having a maximum width that is larger than a maximum width of the bottom portion.

10. The vehicle according to claim 9 , wherein

the first receiving portion of the elastic seal receives a portion of the rear wall of the front cabin, the second receiving portion of the elastic seal interchangeably receives the front wall of the cargo box and the cargo box frame.

11. The vehicle according to claim 10 , wherein

the second receiving portion receives the front wall of the cargo box at the bottom portion of the elastic seal.

12. The vehicle according to claim 11 , wherein

the second receiving portion receives the cargo box frame at the top portion of the elastic seal.

13. The vehicle according to claim 1 , further comprising

a rear crossbar that is removably attached to each of the crossbar siderails.

14. The vehicle according to claim 13 , wherein

the rear wall of the cabin includes a first rear light, and the rear crossbar includes a second rear light.

15. The vehicle according to claim 14 , wherein

the first rear and second rear lights are connected in parallel by a single electrical circuit.

16. The vehicle according to claim 13 , further comprising

a plurality of soft top panels that are detachably attached to the cargo box frame.

17. The vehicle according to claim 16 , wherein

the plurality of soft top panels includes a roof panel that is detachably attached to the crossbar siderails and the rear crossbar.

18. The vehicle according to claim 17 , wherein

the plurality of soft top panels further includes a plurality of side panels that are detachably connected to the crossbar siderails.
