Abstract

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to provide a custom installable open virtualization application file for on-premise installation via the cloud are disclosed. Example instructions cause one or more processors to determine a sizing factor based on a response from a user device; determine customized resource information for an agent in a private cloud network using an inventory count algorithm based on the sizing factor; modify an open virtualization appliance (OVA) file to include the customized resource information, the OVA file being deployed in a public cloud network; and transmit an indication to a location of the modified OVA file to the user device, the location of the modified OVA file being the same location as the OVA file.

Claims (39)

1. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed, cause one or more processors to at least:

determine a sizing factor based on a response from a user device;

determine customized resource information for an agent in a private cloud network using an inventory count algorithm based on the sizing factor;

modify an open virtualization appliance (OVA) file to include the customized resource information, the OVA file being deployed in a public cloud network; and

transmit an indication to a location of the modified OVA file to the user device, the location of the modified OVA file being the same location as the OVA file.

2. The computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the indication to the location is provided to components of the private cloud network to initiate deployment of the agent in the private cloud network, the agent including information related to the sizing factor.

3. The computer readable medium of claim 2 , wherein the agent interfaces with a software as a service (SaaS) application in the public cloud network.

4. The computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the instructions cause the one or more processors to modify the OVA file by modifying a descriptor file of the OVA file to include a secure key.

5. The computer readable medium of claim 4 , wherein the agent in the private cloud network establishes a connection to a SaaS application in the public cloud network using the secure key.

6. The computer readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the instructions cause the one or more processors to determine a resource capacity for the agent in the private cloud network.

7. The computer readable medium of claim 6 , wherein the instructions cause the one or more processors to:

transmit a prompt to the user device; and

determine the resource capacity based on information received in a response to the prompt.

8. The computer readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the response corresponds to a load of the agent.

9. An apparatus comprising:

memory;

instructions included in the memory; and

processor circuitry to execute the instructions to:

determine a sizing factor based on a response from a user device;

determine customized resource information for an agent in a private cloud network using an inventory count algorithm based on the sizing factor;

modify an open virtualization appliance (OVA) file to include the customized resource information, the OVA file being deployed in a public cloud network; and

transmit an indication to a location of the modified OVA file to the user device, the location of the modified OVA file being the same location as the OVA file.

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the indication to the location is provided to components of the private cloud network to initiate deployment of the agent in the private cloud network, the agent including information related to the sizing factor.

11. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the agent interfaces with a software as a service (SaaS) application in the public cloud network.

12. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the one or more processors are to modify the OVA file by modifying a descriptor file of the OVA file to include a secure key.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the agent in the private cloud network establishes a connection to a SaaS application in the public cloud network using the secure key.

14. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the one or more processors are to determine a resource capacity for the agent in the private cloud network.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the one or more processors are to:

transmit a prompt to the user device; and

determine the resource capacity based on information received in a response to the prompt.

16. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the response corresponds to a load of the agent.

17. A method comprising:

determining, by executing an instruction with one or more processors, a sizing factor based on a response from a user device;

determining, by executing an instruction with the one or more processors, customized resource information for an agent in a private cloud network using an inventory count algorithm based on the sizing factor;

modifying, by executing an instruction with the one or more processors, an open virtualization appliance (OVA) file to include the customized resource information, the OVA file being deployed in a public cloud network; and

transmitting an indication to a location of the modified OVA file to the user device, the location of the modified OVA file being the same location as the OVA file.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the indication to the location is provided to components of the private cloud network to initiate deployment of the agent in the private cloud network, the agent including information related to the sizing factor.

19. The method of claim 18 , wherein the agent interfaces with a software as a service (SaaS) application in the public cloud network.

20. The method of claim 17 , further including modifying the OVA file by modifying a descriptor file of the OVA file to include a secure key.
