Abstract

The present invention relates to an electrolytic solution for a lithium secondary battery, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The lithium secondary battery according to the present invention employs the electrolytic solution for a lithium secondary battery, containing a difluorophosphite compound, according to the present invention, and thus has improved characteristics.

Claims (23)

1. A lithium secondary battery, comprising:

a cathode comprising a cathode active material, the cathode active material comprising an Ni-containing transition metal compound;

an anode; and

an electrolyte comprising a lithium salt, a non-aqueous organic solvent, and a difluorophosphite compound of the following Formula 1:

A-OPF 2

wherein in Formula 1, A is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C10 alkyl or C3-C10 cycloalkyl,

wherein the substituted C1-C10 alykl and C3-C10 cycloalkyl are substituted with one or more of C1-C10 alkoxy and/or C1-C10 alkoxy-C1-C10 alkoxy.

2. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein in Formula 1, A is C2-C8 alkyl, C2-C8 alkyl substituted with H—(CH 2 CH 2 O) m —, or C3-C7 cycloalkyl, and m is an integer of 1 or 2.

3. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the difluorophosphite compound of Formula 1 is represented by the following Formula 2:

wherein in Formula 2, R is hydrogen, or H—(CH 2 CH 2 O) m —, n is an integer of 2 to 8, and m is an integer of 1 or 2.

4. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the difluorophosphite compound of Formula 1 is represented by the following Formula 3:

wherein in Formula 3, p is an integer of 1 to 3.

5. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the difluorophosphite compound is selected from one or more of the following compounds:

6. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the difluorophosphite compound is selected from one or more of the following compounds:

7. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the difluorophosphite compound is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 5 wt % with respect to a total weight of the electrolyte.

8. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the electrolyte further comprises one or two or more additives selected from 1,3-propane sultone (PS), lithium bis(oxalato)borate (LiBOB), lithium difluoro bis(oxalato)phosphate (LiDFBOP), and ethylene sulfate (ESA).

9. The lithium secondary battery of claim 8 , wherein the additive is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 10.0 wt % with respect to a total weight of the electrolyte.

10. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the cathode active material comprises a nickel-cobalt-manganese-based cathode active material.

11. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the cathode active material comprises Li x1 (Ni a1 Co b1 Mn c1 )O 2 , Li x2 (Ni a2 Co b2 Mn c2 )O 4 or a mixture thereof where 0.5<x1<1.3, 0<a1<1, 0<b1<1, 0<c1<1, and a1+b1+c1=1; 0.5<x2<1.3, 0<a2<2, 0<b2<2, 0<c2<2, and a2+b2+c2=2.

12. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the cathode active material comprises Li x3 (Ni a3 Co b3 Mn c3 )O 2 where 0.90≤x0≤1.10, 0.5≤a3≤0.99, 0.005≤b3<0.5, 0.005≤c3<0.5, and a3+b3+c3=1.

13. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the cathode active material comprises Li x4 (Ni a4 Co b4 Mn b4 )O 2 where 0.90≤x4≤1.10, 0.8≤a4≤0.99, 0.005≤b4≤0.1, 0.005≤c4≤0.1, and a4+b4+c4=1.

The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein the cathode active material comprises a mixture of Li x3 (Ni a3 Co b3 Mn c3 )O 2 where 0.90≤x3≤1.10, 0.5≤a3≤0.99, 0.005<b3≤0.5, 0.005≤c3<0.5, and a3+b3+c3=1; and Li x4 (Ni a4 Co b4 Mn c4 )O 2 where 0.90≤x4≤1.10, 0.8≤a4≤0.99, 0.005≤b4≤0.1, 0.005≤c4≤0.1, and a4+b4+c4=1.

15. The lithium secondary battery of claim 14 , wherein the mixture is a mixture of Li x3 (Ni a3 Co b3 Mn c3 )O 2 and Li x4 (Ni a4 Co b4 Mn c4 )O 2 in a weight ratio of 0.1:9.9 to 9.9:0.1.
