Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for monitoring of one or more A/V collection devices within a premises. Based on the monitoring, one or more computing devices may determine whether to route or block a data transmission outside a premises. The data transmission may be routed or blocked based on, for example, one or more of the following: whether a transmission window associated with an A/V collection device is open or closed; whether the data transmission is being sent to an authorized destination device; whether the data transmission is encrypted, and the like.

Claims (83)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a first computing device, a first indication of an audio trigger event associated with a second computing device;

receiving a second indication of video confirmation associated with the audio trigger event;

opening, based on the first indication and the second indication, a communication window associated with the second computing device; and

routing, based on receiving a data communication from the second computing device during the open communication window, the data communication.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second indication comprises at least one of:

an indication that an individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device;

an indication that movement associated with a human is detected in an environment associated with the second computing device; and

an indication that an authorized user is recognized in one or more images of an environment associated with the second computing device.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

closing, based on receiving an indication that no individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device, the communication window.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein opening the communication window comprises:

beginning a limited period of time in which the second computing device will be permitted to send data to a device outside of a premises associated with the first computing device.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

closing, based on determining that a period of time associated with the communication window has elapsed, the communication window; and

updating information associated with the second computing device to indicate that the communication window is closed.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, using information associated with the second computing device, that a destination device associated with a second data communication, from the second computing device, is unauthorized; and

based on determining that the destination device is unauthorized:

blocking the second data communication; and

sending a message notifying that an unauthorized communication has been attempted.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

outputting information associated with a plurality of data transmissions received from the second computing device and, for each of the plurality of data transmissions, an indication of whether the data transmission was routed or blocked.

8. A first computing device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first computing device to:

receive a first indication of an audio trigger event associated with a second computing device;

receive a second indication of video confirmation associated with the audio trigger event;

open, based on the first indication and the second indication, a communication window associated with the second computing device; and

route, based on receipt of a data communication from the second computing device during the open communication window, the data communication.

9. The first computing device of claim 8 , wherein the second indication comprises at least one of:

an indication that an individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device;

an indication that movement associated with a human is detected in an environment associated with the second computing device; and

an indication that an authorized user is recognized in one or more images of an environment associated with the second computing device.

10. The first computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the first computing device to:

close the communication window based on receipt of an indication that no individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device.

11. The first computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the first computing device to:

begin a limited period of time in which the second computing device will be permitted to send data to a device outside of a premises associated with the first computing device.

12. The first computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the first computing device to:

close the communication window based on a determination that a period of time associated with the communication window has elapsed; and

update information associated with the second computing device to indicate that the communication window is closed.

13. The first computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the first computing device to:

determine, using information associated with the second computing device, that a destination device associated with a second data communication, from the second computing device, is unauthorized; and

based on a determination that the destination device is unauthorized:

block the second data communication; and

send a message notifying that an unauthorized communication has been attempted.

14. The first computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the first computing device to:

output information associated with a plurality of data transmissions received from the second computing device and, for each of the plurality of data transmissions, an indication of whether the data transmission was routed or blocked.

15. A system comprising:

a first computing device; and

a second computing device configured to send data communications,

wherein the first computing device is configured to:

receive a first indication of an audio trigger event associated with the second computing device;

receive a second indication of video confirmation associated with the audio trigger event;

open, based on the first indication and the second indication, a communication window associated with the second computing device; and

route, based on receipt of a first data communication from the second computing device during the open communication window, the first data communication.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the second indication comprises at least one of:

an indication that an individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device;

an indication that movement associated with a human is detected in an environment associated with the second computing device; and

an indication that an authorized user is recognized in one or more images of an environment associated with the second computing device.

17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first computing device is further configured to close the communication window based on at least one of:

receipt of an indication that no individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device; and

a determination that a period of time associated with the communication window has elapsed.

18. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first computing device is further configured to:

begin a limited time period in which the second computing device will be permitted to send data to a device outside of a premises associated with the first computing device.

19. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first computing device is further configured to:

determine, using information associated with the second computing device, that a destination device associated with a second data communication, from the second computing device, is unauthorized; and

based on a determination that the destination device is unauthorized:

block the second data communication; and

send a message notifying that an unauthorized communication has been attempted.

20. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first computing device is further configured to:

output information associated with a plurality of data transmissions received from the second computing device and, for each of the plurality of data transmissions, an indication of whether the data transmission was routed or blocked.

21. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed, cause:

receiving, by a first computing device, a first indication of an audio trigger event associated with a second computing device;

receiving a second indication of video confirmation associated with the audio trigger event; opening, based on the first indication and the second indication, a communication window associated with the second computing device; and

routing, based on receiving a data communication from the second computing device during the open communication window, the data communication.

22. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21 , wherein the second indication comprises at least one of:

an indication that an individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device; an indication that movement associated with a human is detected in an environment associated with the second computing device; and an indication that an authorized user is recognized in one or more images of an environment associated with the second computing device.

23. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause closing, based on receiving an indication that no individual is detected in video of an environment associated with the second computing device, the communication window.

24. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21 , wherein opening the communication window comprises: beginning a limited period of time in which the second computing device will be permitted to send data to a device outside of a premises associated with the first computing device.

25. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause: closing, based on determining that a period of time associated with the communication window has elapsed, the communication window; and updating information associated with the second computing device to indicate that the communication window is closed.

26. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 21 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause: determining, using information associated with the second computing device, that a destination device associated with a second data communication, from the second computing device, is unauthorized; and based on determining that the destination device is unauthorized: blocking the second data communication; and sending a message notifying that an unauthorized communication has been attempted.
