Abstract

A base station central unit sends, to a base station distributed unit, a first indication that a cell is associated with a first non-public network (NPN). The base station central unit receives, from an access and mobility management function (AMF), a second indication that a wireless device supports the first NPN. The base station central unit sends, to the base station distributed unit and based on the second indication, a request for configuration of the cell for the wireless device.

Claims (39)

1. A method comprising:

sending, by a base station central unit to a base station distributed unit:

a cell identifier of a cell; and

a first indication that the cell is associated with a first non-public network (NPN);

receiving, by the base station central unit from an access and mobility management function (AMF), a second indication that a wireless device supports the first NPN; and

sending, by the base station central unit to the base station distributed unit and based on the second indication, a request for configuration of the cell for the wireless device.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell identifier and the first indication are sent to the base station distributed unit in a message comprising the cell identifier and the first indication.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the message indicates that the cell is associated with the first NPN.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by the base station central unit from the base station distributed unit, a response indicating the configuration of the cell.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the response confirms the configuration of the cell for the wireless device.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising sending, by the base station central unit, a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising configuration parameters of the cell.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the sending is to the wireless device.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the sending is via the base station distributed unit.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining, based on the wireless device supporting the first NPN, to request the configuration of the cell.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell is a serving cell.

11. A base station central unit comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station central unit to:

send, to a base station distributed unit:

a cell identifier of a cell; and

a first indication that the cell is associated with a first non-public network (NPN);

receive, from an access and mobility management function (AMF), a second indication that a wireless device supports the first NPN; and

send, to the base station distributed unit and based on the second indication, a request for configuration of the cell for the wireless device.

12. The base station central unit of claim 11 , wherein the cell identifier and the first indication are sent to the base station distributed unit in a message comprising the cell identifier and the first indication.

13. The base station central unit of claim 12 , wherein the message indicates that the cell is associated with the first NPN.

14. The base station central unit of claim 11 , further comprising receiving, by the base station central unit from the base station distributed unit, a response indicating the configuration of the cell.

15. The base station central unit of claim 14 , wherein the response confirms the configuration of the cell for the wireless device.

16. The base station central unit of claim 11 , further comprising sending, by the base station central unit, a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising configuration parameters of the cell.

17. The base station central unit of claim 16 , wherein the sending is to the wireless device.

18. The base station central unit of claim 16 , wherein the sending is via the base station distributed unit.

19. The base station central unit of claim 11 , further comprising determining, based on the wireless device supporting the first NPN, to request the configuration of the cell.

20. A system comprising:

a base station central unit comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station central unit to:

send, to a base station distributed unit:

a cell identifier of a cell; and

a first indication that the cell is associated with a first non-public network (NPN);

receive, from an access and mobility management function (AMF), a second indication that a wireless device supports the first NPN; and

send, to the base station distributed unit and based on the second indication, a request for configuration of the cell for the wireless device; and

the AMF, wherein the AMF comprises one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the AMF to send the second indication.
