Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating virtual reality scenes from a textual document. The textual document is parsed to identify a plurality of text portions corresponding to a plurality of scenes. Each of the plurality of text portions is analyzed to identify a plurality of nouns and a plurality of related verbs. A virtual reality (VR) scene including a plurality of VR objects depicted as performing a set of actions is generated for each of the plurality of text portions, based on the nouns and related verbs identified in the corresponding text portion. Each VR scene includes at least one portal which a user may interact with to view another VR scene and the set of actions in a VR scene may be repeated while the VR scene is being viewed.

generating a virtual reality (VR) presentation comprising a plurality of ordered scenes, wherein the VR presentation comprises:

a first VR scene comprising a first set of VR objects capable of performing a first set of actions in the first VR scene during a first time span; and

a second VR scene, ordered after the first VR scene, comprising a second set of VR objects capable of performing a second set of actions in the second VR scene during a second time span;

displaying the first VR scene, wherein the first VR scene comprises a first portal;

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein:

the first portal comprises a storyline portal, wherein the second VR scene is a next scene in a storyline that includes the first VR scene.

5. The method of claim 3 , wherein:

the first portal comprises a character portal, wherein the second VR scene is a next scene chronologically that includes a particular character that was in the first VR scene.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the generating the VR presentation comprising the plurality of ordered scenes comprises:

parsing a text document to identify the first set of VR objects and the first set of actions for the first VR scene, and the second set of VR objects and the second set of actions for the second VR scene.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the generating the VR presentation comprising the plurality of ordered scenes comprises:

parsing a text document to identify a first location for the first VR scene and a second location for the second VR scene.

8. A system comprising:

control circuitry configured to:

generate a virtual reality (VR) presentation comprising a plurality of ordered scenes, wherein the VR presentation comprises:

a first VR scene comprising a first set of VR objects capable of performing a first set of actions in the first VR scene during a first time span; and

a second VR scene, ordered after the first VR scene, comprising a second set of VR objects capable of performing a second set of actions in the second VR scene during a second time span;

display the first VR scene, wherein the first VR scene comprises a first portal;

determine that the first VR scene is still being viewed at the end of the first time span and after the first set of VR objects have performed the first set of actions and, in response, repeating the performance of the first set of actions beginning from a start of the first VR scene at the beginning of the first time span; and

input/output circuitry configure to detect a user interaction with the first portal;

wherein the control circuitry is further configured to, in response to detecting the user interaction with the first portal, end display of the first VR scene of the plurality of ordered scenes and begin display of the second VR scene of the plurality of ordered scenes from the beginning of the second time span.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

determine that the second VR scene is still being viewed at the end of the second time span and after the second set of VR objects have performed the second set of actions and, in response, repeat the performance of the second set of actions by the second set of VR objects beginning from a start of the second VR scene at the beginning of the second time span; and

in response to a user interaction with a second portal of the second VR scene, end display of the second VR scene of the plurality of ordered scenes.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein:

the VR presentation further comprises a third VR scene comprising a third set of VR objects capable of performing a third set of actions in the third VR scene during a third time span;

the first VR scene further comprises a second portal, the second portal comprising a chronological portal which, when interacted with, causes display of the third VR scene of the plurality of ordered scenes which is adjacent in time to the first time span of the first VR scene of the plurality of ordered scenes; and

the third VR scene is chronologically prior to the second VR and chronologically after the first VR scene.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein:

the first portal comprises a storyline portal, wherein the second VR scene is a next scene in a storyline that includes the first VR scene.

12. The system of claim 10 , wherein:

the first portal comprises a character portal, wherein the second VR scene is a next scene chronologically that includes a particular character that was in the first VR scene.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein, when generating the VR presentation comprising the plurality of ordered scenes, the control circuitry is configured to parse a text document to identify the first set of objects and the first set of actions for the first VR scene, and the second set of objects and the second set of actions for the second VR scene.
