SYSTEMS, METHODS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR SHARING GEOGRAPHICAL DATA
According to one embodiment, a method comprises sending, from a first mobile device, a request including information associated with a mobile device of a friend of a user; receiving, in response to the request, a location of the mobile device of the friend of the user; and outputting a map generated based on the received location of the mobile device of the friend of the user.
1 . A method, comprising:
sending, from a first mobile device, a request including information associated with a mobile device of a friend of a user;
receiving, in response to the request, a location of the mobile device of the friend of the user; and
outputting a map generated based on the received location of the mobile device of the friend of the user.
2 . A method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first mobile device is a mobile phone.
3 . A method as recited in claim 1 , comprising outputting an estimated travel time.
4 . A method as recited in claim 1 , comprising outputting an average travelling speed.
5 . A method as recited in claim 1 , comprising outputting an elapsed travel time.
6 . A method as recited in claim 1 , comprising:
establishing a link with a global positioning service (GPS) system; and
transmitting geographical data to the GPS system, wherein the geographical data includes the location of the mobile device of the friend of the user and a first location of the first mobile device.
7 . A system, comprising:
a first mobile device comprising a processor; and
a computer usable medium, the computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, which when executed by the processor causes the processor to:
send, from a first mobile device, a request including information associated with a mobile device of a friend of a user;
receive, in response to the request, a location of the mobile device of the friend of the user; and
output a map generated based on the received location of the mobile device of the friend of the user.
8 . A system as recited in claim 7 , wherein the first mobile device is a mobile phone.
9 . A system as recited in claim 7 , wherein the program code further causes the processor to output an estimated travel time.
10 . A system as recited in claim 7 , wherein the program code further causes the processor to output an average travelling speed.
11 . A system as recited in claim 7 , wherein the program code further causes the processor to output an elapsed travel time.
12 . A system as recited in claim 7 , wherein the program code further causes the processor to:
establish a link with a global positioning service (GPS) system; and
transmit geographical data to the GPS system, wherein the geographical data includes the location of the mobile device of the friend of the user and a first location of the first mobile device.
