Transparent Smart Doors for Retail Storage Containers
Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for controlling information displayed on a transparent electronic display that is part of a door for a retail storage container. In one implementation, a method may include: receiving an indication of at least one position associated with a first product type in the retail storage container; receiving an indication of at least one position associated with a second product type in the retail storage container; using the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type to select a first region of the transparent electronic display; using the indication of the at least one position associated with the second product type to select a second region of the transparent electronic display; displaying visual information related to the first product type; and displaying visual information related to the second product type.

23 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium including instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to perform a method for controlling information displayed on a transparent electronic display that is part of a door for a retail storage container, the method comprising:
receiving an indication of at least one position associated with a first product type in the retail storage container;
receiving an indication of at least one position associated with a second product type in the retail storage container, the second product type differs from the first product type;
using the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type to select a first region of the transparent electronic display;
using the indication of the at least one position associated with the second product type to select a second region of the transparent electronic display, the second region differs from the first region;
displaying visual information related to the first product type on the first region of the transparent electronic display; and
displaying visual information related to the second product type on the second region of the transparent electronic display.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the selection of the first region of the transparent electronic display is configured to cause at least part of the displayed visual information related to the first product type to appear over at least part of the at least one position associated with the first product type when viewed from a particular viewing point, and the selection of the second region of the transparent electronic display is configured to cause at least part of the displayed visual information related to the second product type to appear over at least part of the at least one position associated with the second product type when viewed from the particular viewing point.
25 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the selection of the first region of the transparent electronic display and the selection of the second region of the transparent electronic display is based on a person facing the retail storage container.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the at least one position associated with the first product type includes a position of the first product type in a planogram, and the at least one position associated with the second product type includes a position of the second product type in the planogram.
27 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type is based on an analysis of at least one image of products placed in the retail storage container.
28 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the retail storage container comprises a shelf, a plurality of sensors are positioned on the shelf and configured to be positioned between the shelf and products positioned on the shelf, and the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type is based on an analysis of data captured using the plurality of sensors.
29 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the retail storage container comprises a shelf, and the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type is based on an analysis of weight data captured using the weight sensor, the weight sensor is configured to measure a weight of at least one product placed on the shelf.
30 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the at least one position associated with the first product type includes a position of products of the first product type in the retail storage container.
31 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the at least one position associated with the first product type includes a position of a label corresponding to the first product type in the retail storage container.
32 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the at least one position associated with the first product type includes a position of an empty space dedicated to the first product type in the retail storage container.
33 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the at least one position associated with the first product type includes a position at which products of the first product type were previously placed in the retail storage container and at which products of the first product type are not currently placed.
34 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on an analysis of at least one image of products placed in the retail storage container.
35 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the retail storage container comprises a shelf, a plurality of sensors are positioned on the shelf and configured to be positioned between the shelf and products positioned on the shelf, and the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on an analysis of data captured using the plurality of sensors.
36 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the retail storage container comprises a shelf, and the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on an analysis of weight data captured using the weight sensor, the weight sensor is configured to measure a weight of at least one product placed on the shelf.
37 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on a state of the door.
38 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on an amount of products of the first product type placed in the retail storage container.
39 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the method comprises:
obtaining an amount of products of the first product type in the retail storage container;
comparing the amount of products of the first product type in the retail storage container with a selected threshold;
in response to a first result of the comparison, displaying first visual information related to the first product type; and
in response to a second result of the comparison, displaying second visual information related to the first product type, the second visual information differs from the first visual information.
40 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on facings of the first product type in the retail storage container.
41 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on information presented on a label corresponding to the first product type.
42 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on a price corresponding to the first product type.
43 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on the selected first region of the transparent electronic display.
44 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on the at least one position associated with the first product type in the retail storage container.
45 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type is based on a person facing the retail storage container.
46 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the displayed visual information related to the first product type includes an indication of a need to restock the first product type in the retail storage container.
47 . A method for controlling information displayed on a transparent electronic display that is part of a door for a retail storage container, the method comprising:
receiving an indication of at least one position associated with a first product type in the retail storage container;
receiving an indication of at least one position associated with a second product type in the retail storage container, the second product type differs from the first product type;
using the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type to select a first region of the transparent electronic display;
using the indication of the at least one position associated with the second product type to select a second region of the transparent electronic display, the second region differs from the first region;
displaying visual information related to the first product type on the first region of the transparent electronic display; and
displaying visual information related to the second product type on the second region of the transparent electronic display.
48 . A system comprising:
a transparent electronic display that is part of a door for a retail storage container; and
at least one processor configured to:
receive an indication of at least one position associated with a first product type in the retail storage container;
receive an indication of at least one position associated with a second product type in the retail storage container, the second product type differs from the first product type;
use the indication of the at least one position associated with the first product type to select a first region of the transparent electronic display;
use the indication of the at least one position associated with the second product type to select a second region of the transparent electronic display, the second region differs from the first region;
display visual information related to the first product type on the first region of the transparent electronic display; and
display visual information related to the second product type on the second region of the transparent electronic display.
