Abstract

A hydrocarbon cracker stream is combined with recycle content pyrolysis oil to form a combined cracker stream and the combined cracker stream is cracked in a cracker furnace to provide an olefin-containing effluent. The r-pyoil can be fed to the cracker feed. More particularly cracker feedstock comprises a recycle content pyrolysis oil composition (r-pyoil), wherein the cracker feedstock has a boiling point curve defined the following characteristics (i) through (iii): (i) a 90% boiling point at least 350° C.; (ii) a 10% boiling point of at least 60° C.; and (iii) a 50% boiling point in the range of from 95° C. to 200° C.

Claims (30)

1 . A cracker feedstock comprising a recycle content pyrolysis oil composition (r-pyoil), wherein said cracker feedstock has a boiling point curve defined the following characteristics (i) through (iii):

(i) a 90% boiling point at least 350° C.;

(ii) a 10% boiling point of at least 60° C.; and

(iii) a 50% boiling point in the range of from 95° C. to 200° C.

2 - 60 . (canceled)

61 . The feedstock of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of said r-pyoil is obtained from the pyrolysis of waste plastic.

62 . The feedstock of claim 1 , wherein said wherein said cracker feedstock further comprises a non-recycle C2 to C4 hydrocarbon composition, and said C2 to C4 hydrocarbon composition is present in said cracker feed in an amount of at least 15 and/or not more than 90 weight percent.

63 . The feedstock of claim 1 , wherein said r-pyoil comprises not more than 20 weight percent of aromatics, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil.

64 . The feedstock of claim 1 , wherein said r-pyoil comprises not more than 2 weight percent of oxygenated compounds, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil.

65 . The feedstock of claim 1 , wherein said r-pyoil has a total C8+ content of not more than 30 weight percent, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil.

66 . A cracker feed composition comprising a recycle content pyrolysis oil composition (r-pyoil) and a predominantly C2 to C4 hydrocarbon composition.

67 . The composition of claim 66 , wherein the composition is fed to a gas cracker or a split furnace.

68 . The composition of claim 66 , wherein at least a portion of said r-pyoil is obtained from pyrolysis of waste plastic.

69 . The composition of claim 66 , wherein said r-pyoil is present in said cracker composition in an amount of not more than 40 weight percent, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil.

70 . The composition of claim 66 , wherein said r-pyoil comprises at least 15 weight percent and/or not more than 80 weight percent of paraffins, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil, and said cracker composition comprises not more than 30 weight percent of C4 and C5 and heavier hydrocarbons, not more than 30 weight percent of methane and lighter components.

71 . The composition of claim 66 , wherein said cracker composition comprises not more than 30 ppm by weight or chlorine-containing compounds, not more than 1000 ppm by weight of carboxylic acid-containing compounds, not more than 5000 ppm by weight of carbon dioxide and/or carbon monoxide, based on the total weight of the cracker composition, a total metals content of not more than 500 parts per million by weight, and a total solids content of not more than 500 parts per million by weight, each based on the total weight of said cracker composition.

72 . A cracker feedstock comprising a recycle content pyrolysis oil composition (r-pyoil), wherein said cracker feedstock has a boiling point curve defined the following characteristics (i) through (iii):

(i) a 90% boiling point of at least 150° C.;

(ii) a 10% boiling point of at least 60° C.; and

(iii) a 50% boiling point in the range of from 80° C. to 145° C.

73 . The feedstock of claim 72 , wherein at least a portion of said r-pyoil is obtained from the pyrolysis of waste plastic.

74 . The feedstock of claim 72 , wherein said wherein said cracker feedstock further comprises a non-recycle C2 to C4 hydrocarbon composition, and said C2 to C4 hydrocarbon composition is present in said cracker feed in an amount of at least 15 and/or not more than 90 weight percent.

75 . The feedstock of claim 72 , wherein said r-pyoil comprises not more than 20 weight percent of aromatics and not more than 2 weight percent of oxygenated compounds, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil.

76 . The feedstock of claim 72 , wherein said r-pyoil has a total C8+ content of not more than 30 weight percent, based on the total weight of said r-pyoil.

77 . A cracker feedstock comprising a recycle content pyrolysis oil composition (r-pyoil), wherein said cracker feedstock has a boiling point curve defined the following characteristics (i) through (iii):

(i) a 90% boiling point at least 350° C.;
