Abstract

A tire failure prediction system includes a setting unit configured to set a predetermined master curve indicating a relationship between a speed of a vehicle on which a tire is mounted and a heat build-up temperature of the tire, a determination unit configured to determine a tire condition of the tire based on a difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and a measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire, and an update unit configured to update the master curve set by the setting unit. The update unit updates the master curve in a case where the determination unit determines that the tire is normal. In a case where the determination unit determines that the tire is abnormal, a warning unit outputs a warning.

a determination unit configured to determine a tire condition of the tire based on a difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and a measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire; and

an update unit configured to update the master curve set by the setting unit when a difference between the master curve and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire exceeds a predetermined range,

a warning unit configured to output a warning in a case where the determination unit determines that the tire is abnormal.

4 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 1 , wherein

the update unit:

updates the master curve in a case where a difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire exceeds a predetermined range, and

refrains from updating the master curve in a case where the difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold value.

5 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 1 , wherein

the vehicle comprises a plurality of the tires,

the setting unit sets the master curve for each of the plurality of the tires, and

the determination unit compares a difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of a first tire with a difference between the master curve for an other tire and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the other tire to determine the tire condition of the first tire.

6 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 5 , wherein the determination unit compares the differences for the tires mounted at positions that are symmetrical in the vehicle and determines the tire condition of the tire.

7 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 1 , wherein the determination unit determines the tire condition of the tire in a predetermined cycle and based on a determination result from the determination unit, determines the tire condition of the tire in a cycle shorter than the predetermined cycle.

8 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 1 , wherein the setting unit sets the master curve for the tire of the vehicle based on the master curve for a tire of another vehicle other than the vehicle.

9 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 2 , further comprising:

a warning unit configured to output a warning in a case where the determination unit determines that the tire is abnormal.

10 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 9 , wherein

the update unit:

updates the master curve in a case where a difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire exceeds a predetermined range, and

refrains from updating the master curve in a case where the difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold value.

11 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 10 , wherein

the vehicle comprises a plurality of the tires,

the setting unit sets the master curve for each of the plurality of the tires, and

the determination unit compares a difference between the master curve set by the setting unit and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the tire with a difference between the master curve for an other tire and the measured value of the heat build-up temperature of the other tire to determine the tire condition of the tire.

12 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 11 , wherein the determination unit compares the differences for the tires mounted at positions that are symmetrical in the vehicle and determines the tire condition of the tire.

13 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 12 , wherein the determination unit determines the tire condition of the tire in a predetermined cycle and based on a determination result from the determination unit, determines the tire condition of the tire in a cycle shorter than the predetermined cycle.

14 . The tire failure prediction system according to claim 13 , wherein the setting unit sets the master curve for the tire of the vehicle based on the master curve for a tire of another vehicle other than the vehicle.

15 . A tire failure prediction method, comprising:
