Abstract

An information display system configured to unidirectionally display an image to inside or outside of a space via a transparent projected member provided in the space includes an image projection apparatus arranged inside the space and configured to generate and project image light by modulating a light flux from a light source, a transparent sheet provided on an inner surface of a display region set on a part of the projected member, and a light direction changing panel configured to change a direction of the image light from the image projection apparatus toward the transparent sheet of the display region, and the transparent sheet includes a retardation plate, an absorption type polarization plate that absorbs a specific polarized wave, and a transparent diffusion sheet material having a light diffusion function, and projects the image light whose direction has been changed by the light direction changing unit to the inside or the outside of the space.

Claims (52)

1. An information display system configured to unidirectionally display an image via a transparent projected member constituting a room as a display region, to inside or outside of the room, comprising:

an image projection apparatus arranged inside the room and configured to generate and project image light by modulating a light flux from a light source;

a transparent sheet provided on an inner surface of a display region provided on a part of the projected member; and

a light direction changing panel configured to direct a direction of the image light from the image projection apparatus toward the transparent sheet of the display region,

wherein the image projection apparatus converts the image light from the light source into image light having a narrow diffusion angle and composed of a specific polarization component and emits the image light, and

wherein the transparent sheet includes a retardation plate, an absorption type polarization plate that absorbs a specific polarized wave, and a transparent diffusion sheet material having a light diffusion function, and projects the image light whose direction has been changed by the light direction changing panel to the inside or the outside of the room.

2. The information display system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the image projection apparatus includes a lenticular lens and a polarization plate that control a diffusion distribution of the image light.

3. The information display system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the light direction changing panel is formed of a linear Fresnel lens.

4. The information display system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the room is a store, and the store is partitioned by the transparent projected member.

5. The information display system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the image projection apparatus is composed of a single liquid crystal display panel or a plurality of liquid crystal display panels combined with each other.

6. The information display system according to claim 5 ,

wherein a divergent light flux from the light source constituting the image projection apparatus is converted into a substantially parallel light flux by a shape of an end surface of a light guide body, thereby making the substantially parallel light flux enter the single liquid crystal display panel or the plurality of liquid crystal display panels.

7. A vehicle information display system configured to display information to inside or outside of the vehicle by using a part of a transparent projected member constituting the vehicle as a display region, comprising:

an image projection apparatus provided inside the vehicle and configured to modulate a light flux from a light source and project image light of the information;

a transparent sheet provided on an inner surface of the display region set on a part of the projected member; and

a light direction changing panel configured to change a direction of the image light from the image projection apparatus to the transparent sheet,

wherein the image projection apparatus converts the image light from the light source into image light having a narrow diffusion angle and composed of a specific polarization component, and emits the image light,

wherein the transparent sheet includes a retardation plate, an absorption type polarization plate that absorbs a specific polarized wave, and a transparent diffusion sheet material having a light diffusion function, and

wherein the image light whose direction has been changed by the light direction changing panel is projected to the inside or the outside of the vehicle.

8. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the image projection apparatus includes a lenticular lens and a polarization plate that control a diffusion distribution of the image light.

9. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the light direction changing panel is formed of a linear Fresnel lens.

10. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the image projection apparatus configured to project the image light is attached to a ceiling portion of the vehicle.

11. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the image projection apparatus is composed of a single liquid crystal display panel or a plurality of liquid crystal display panels combined with each other.

12. The vehicle information display system according to claim 11 ,

wherein a divergent light flux from the light source constituting the image projection apparatus is converted into a substantially parallel light flux by a shape of an end surface of a light guide body, thereby making the substantially parallel light flux enter the single liquid crystal display panel or the plurality of liquid crystal display panels.

13. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 , further comprising:

a protective cover provided on one surface of the light direction changing panel and configured to reduce a surface reflection of an external light.

14. The vehicle information display system according to claim 13 ,

wherein the protective cover is provided with a polarization film that absorbs or reflects a polarization component from the outside of the vehicle.

15. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the transparent sheet reflects the image light whose direction has been changed by the light direction changing panel, thereby projecting the image light to the inside of the vehicle.

16. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the transparent sheet transmits the image light whose direction has been changed by the light direction changing panel, thereby projecting the image light to the outside of the vehicle.

17. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the projected member is a windshield.

18. The vehicle information display system according to claim 17 ,

wherein a plurality of vehicle information display systems is used so as to project the image light on the windshield to the inside and the outside of the vehicle.

19. The vehicle information display system according to claim 17 including a head-up display apparatus mounted therein.

20. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the projected member is a rear window glass or a side window glass.

21. The vehicle information display system according to claim 20 ,

wherein one or more vehicle information display systems are used to project the image light on the rear glass or the side glass to the outside of the vehicle.

22. The vehicle information display system according to claim 7 ,

wherein the image projection apparatus is composed of a plurality of liquid crystal display panels combined with each other.
