Abstract

A wrapping system of an agricultural baling system includes a wrap directing system configured to direct a wrapping material to cover an entire periphery of a bale of crop material, such that a first portion of the wrapping material overlaps a second portion of the wrapping material. The wrapping system further includes a fastening system configured to secure the first portion of the wrapping material to the second portion of the wrapping material and a sewing system configured to sew the first portion and the second portion to one another.

Claims (7)

1. A wrapping system of an agricultural baling system, comprising:

a wrap directing system configured to direct a wrapping material to cover an entire periphery of a bale of crop material within a baling chamber of the agricultural baling system, such that a first portion of the wrapping material overlaps a second portion of the wrapping material;

a fastening system configured to secure the first portion of the wrapping material to the second portion of the wrapping material, wherein the fastening system comprises a clamp configured to compress the first portion and the second portion against one another via a pair of jaws, and each jaw of the pair of jaws has an opening provides access to the first portion and the second portion; and

a sewing system having a sewing device configured to sew the first portion and the second portion to one another, wherein the sewing system is a one-sided sewing system, and the sewing device is configured to sew the first portion to the second portion through the opening in each jaw of the pair of jaws.

2. The wrapping system of claim 1 , wherein the sewing system comprises a cutter configured to cut the wrapping material.

3. The wrapping system of claim 1 , wherein the sewing system comprises a guide, wherein the sewing device is configured to travel along the guide to sew the first portion and the second portion to one another.

4. The wrapping system of claim 1 , comprising a controller configured to output a control signal to activate the sewing system to sew the first portion and the second portion to one another.
