Abstract

An apparatus may be configured to determine whether to prioritize a sidelink (SL) logical channel group (LCG) based on an SL prioritization threshold and a UL prioritization threshold, on a condition that a UL prioritization threshold is configured. The apparatus may be configured to determine whether a prioritization value associated with the SL LCG is lower than the SL prioritization threshold. The apparatus may be configured to determine (e.g., at least) whether an uplink (UL) LCG has a prioritization value that is equal to or higher than the UL prioritization threshold. The apparatus may be configured to determine whether to prioritize SL buffer status reporting (BSR) based on a size of a UL grant and the determination of whether to prioritize the SL LCG. The apparatus may be configured to report a buffer status based on the determination of whether to prioritize the SL BSR.

Claims (24)

1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:

a processor configured to:

determine whether to prioritize a side link (SL) logical channel (LCH) group (LCG) based on a SL prioritization threshold and an uplink (UL) prioritization threshold, wherein the determination of whether to prioritize the SL LCG comprises a determination of whether a priority associated with the SL LCG is higher than the SL prioritization threshold and a determination of whether a priority associated with an UL LCG is lower than the UL prioritization threshold, wherein the priority associated with the SL LCG is determined using a highest priority among one or more LCHs via which SL data is transmitted, and wherein the priority associated with the UL LCG is determined using a highest priority among one or more LCHs via which UL data is transmitted;

determine whether to prioritize SL buffer status reporting (BSR) based on a size of an UL grant and the determination of whether to prioritize the SL LCG; and

send a transmission, wherein the transmission comprises at least one of a SL buffer status or an UL buffer status based on the determination of whether to prioritize the SL BSR.

2. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to prioritize the SL BSR over UL BSR in a logical channel prioritization (LCP) procedure on a condition that the SL BSR is determined to be prioritized.

3. The WTRU of claim 2 , wherein the SL BSR is included first in the LCP procedure on a condition that the SL BSR is determined to be prioritized.

4. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the SL LCG is a first SL LCG and the first SL LCG is determined to be prioritized, and the processor is configured to:

determine that a second SL LCG is not prioritized; and

determine that the size of the UL grant is insufficient for reporting a buffer status of the second SL LCG, wherein, on a condition that the SL BSR is determined to be prioritized, the transmission comprises a buffer status of the first SL LCG and does not comprise the buffer status of the second SL LCG.

5. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the SL LCG is determined not to be prioritized, and, based on a determination not to prioritize the SL BSR, the processor is configured to determine whether to include a buffer status of the SL LCG in the transmission based on the size of the UL grant.

6. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the one or more LCHs via which the SL data is transmitted are associated with the SL LCG, and the one or more LCHs via which the UL data is transmitted are associated with the UL LCG.

7. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the SL LCG is determined to be prioritized on a condition that the priority associated with the SL LCG is higher than the SL prioritization threshold, the UL prioritization threshold is configured, and the priority associated with the UL LCG is lower than the UL prioritization threshold.

8. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the SL LCG is determined not to be prioritized on a condition that the priority associated with the SL LCG is lower than the SL prioritization threshold, the UL prioritization threshold is not configured, or the priority associated with the UL LCG is higher than the UL prioritization threshold.

9. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein a prioritization value associated with the SL LCG, if lower, indicates a higher priority associated with the SL LCG, and, if higher, indicates a lower priority associated with the SL LCG and wherein a prioritization value associated with the UL LCG, if lower, indicates a higher priority associated with the UL LCG, and, if higher, indicates a lower priority associated with the UL LCG.

10. A method performed by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising:

determining whether to prioritize a side link (SL) logical channel (LCH) group (LCG) based on a SL prioritization threshold and an uplink (UL) prioritization threshold, wherein the determination of whether to prioritize the SL LCG comprises a determination of whether a priority associated with the SL LCG is higher than the SL prioritization threshold and a determination of whether a priority associated with an UL LCG is lower than the UL prioritization threshold;

determining whether to prioritize SL buffer status reporting (BSR) based on a size of an UL grant and the determination of whether to prioritize the SL LCG, wherein the priority associated with the SL LCG is determined using a highest priority among one or more LCHs via which SL data is transmitted, and wherein the priority associated with the UL LCG is determined using a highest priority among one or more LCHs via which UL data is transmitted; and

sending a transmission, wherein the transmission comprises at least one of a SL buffer status or an UL buffer status based on the determination of whether to prioritize the SL BSR.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising prioritizing the SL BSR over UL BSR in a logical channel prioritization (LCP) procedure on a condition that the SL BSR is determined to be prioritized.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the SL LCG is a first SL LCG and the first SL LCG is determined to be prioritized, and the method further comprising:

determining that a second SL LCG is not prioritized; and

determining that the size of the UL grant is insufficient for reporting a buffer status of the second SL LCG, wherein, on a condition that the SL BSR is determined to be prioritized, the transmission comprises a buffer status of the first SL LCG and does not comprise the buffer status of the second SL LCG.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the SL LCG is determined not to be prioritized, and, based on a determination not to prioritize the SL BSR, the method further comprises determining whether to include a buffer status of the SL LCG in the transmission based on the size of the UL grant.
