Claims (27)

1. A soft chewable veterinary pharmaceutical product comprising as ingredients,

a) one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients,

b) between 2.0 and 5.0% w/w of sodium pamoate,

c) between 5-30% w/w PEG as a forming agent with molecular weight higher than 600,

d) between 7.5% to about 40% of a liquid component comprising an oil and glycerol, and

wherein the soft chewable veterinary pharmaceutical product is processable on a forming equipment.

2. The product according to claim 1 , additionally comprising

a starch filler,

a stabilizer component,

a flavoring component, and

a sugar component.

3. The product according to claim 1 , wherein the active pharmaceutical ingredient is 4-[5-(3,5-Dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-y1]-2-methyl-N-[(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethylcarbamoyl)-methyl]-benzamide.

4. The product according to claim 1 , wherein more than one active pharmaceutical ingredient is present.

5. The product according to claim 4 wherein the combination of active pharmaceutical ingredients comprises one or more antiparasitics.

6. A process for the manufacture of a product according to claim 1 comprising the steps of

b) filling a mold with dough, and

c) removing the dough from the mold,

wherein in the mixing step a) the sodium pamoate is mixed with the other ingredients.

7. The process of claim 6 , wherein the lubricity of a product is increased when filling the mold with dough or when removing the dough from the mold or both.

8. A method of controlling a parasitic insect, acarid or nematode infestation of an animal comprising administering to the animal the soft chewable veterinary pharmaceutical product of claim 1 wherein the one or more active pharmaceutical ingredient is

4-[5-(3,5-Dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-yl]-2-methyl-N-[(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethylcarbamoyl)-methyl]-benzamide.

9. The process according to claim 6 , wherein for the manufacturing a forming machine is used.

10. The product according to claim 3 , wherein more than one active pharmaceutical ingredient is present.

11. The product according to claim 10 , wherein the combination of active pharmaceutical ingredients comprises one or more antiparasitics.

12. The product according to claim 2 , wherein the stabilizer is BHT.

13. The soft chewable veterinary pharmaceutical product according to claim 1 , wherein the product comprises between 10-20% w/w PEG.
