Abstract

A method for reacting to changes of items hanging on peg-hooks connected to pegboards may include: determining a location of a store shelf within a retail store; obtaining a first coverage parameter corresponding to a first product type and a second coverage parameter corresponding to a second product type; accessing a database to determine a first height of products of the first product type and a second height of products of the second product type; determining a position for placing a camera configured to capture images of at least a portion of the store shelf by analyzing the location of the store shelf, the first coverage parameter, the second coverage parameter, the first height, and the second height; and providing, to a user interface of a user device, information relating to the determined position of the camera.

Claims (57)

1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium including instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to perform a method for reacting to changes of items hanging on peg-hooks connected to pegboards, the method comprising:

receiving a first indication indicative of a change of items hanging on a first peg-hook connected to a pegboard;

receiving a second indication indicative of a change of items hanging on a second peg-hook connected to the pegboard;

in response to the first indication, causing an action related to a first product type; and

in response to the second indication, causing an action related to a second product type, the second product type differing from the first product type,

wherein the first indication is indicative of whether a product was placed on the first peg-hook or whether a product was removed from the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on whether a product was placed on the first peg-hook or whether a product was removed from the first peg-hook.

2. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the first indication comprises an indication of a weight change of the items hanging on the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on the weight change of the items hanging on the first peg-hook.

3. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the first indication comprises an indication of a pressure applied on the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on the pressure applied on the first peg-hook.

4. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the action related to the first product type comprises:

determining a quantity of the first product type remaining on the first peg-hook.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the first indication indicates that a product was placed on the first peg-hook and is indicative of the type of the product placed on the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on the type of the product placed on the first peg-hook.

6. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the action related to the first product type comprises:

in response to the type of the product placed on the first peg-hook does not match the first product type, transmitting a notification to at least one of a user device and a server; and

in response to the type of the product placed on the first peg-hook matches the first product type, determining a quantity of the first product type on the first peg-hook.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the first indication indicates that a product was removed from the first peg-hook and is indicative of the type of the product removed from the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on the type of the product removed from the first peg-hook.

8. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the action related to the first product type comprises:

transmitting a notification to at least one of a user device and a server, the notification indicating at least one of:

a need to restock the first peg-hook, and

a need to rearrange items hanging on the pegboard.

9. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

generating, based on the first and second indications, an alert for rearranging the items on the first and second peg-hooks.

10. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

determining, based on the first and second indications, a distribution map of items hanging on the pegboard, the distribution map indicating:

a product type associated with the items hanging on each of the first and second peg-hooks, and

a quantity of each product type hanging on each of the first and second peg-hooks.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

determining, based on the distribution map, at least one aspect of a planogram compliance associated with the pegboard; and

transmitting the at least one aspect of the planogram compliance to at least one of a user device and a server.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

in response to the first indication, causing an image sensor to capture at least one image depicting at least part of the pegboard; and

performing at least one of:

analyzing the at least one image to determine at least one aspect of a planogram compliance associated with the pegboard, or

causing the at least one image to be displayed on a user device.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

based on the first indication, determining whether a shopper qualifies for frictionless checkout; and

in response to the determination that the shopper does not qualify for frictionless checkout, providing an indicator that the shopper does not qualify for frictionless checkout.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

receiving a third indication indicative of products of a new product type placed on the first peg-hook; and

using the third indication to determine a product recognition model for the product type.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

determining, based on the first and second indications, a shopping pattern associated with the first and second product types; and

generating, based on the shopping pattern, a decision model for arranging the first and second product types on the pegboard.

16. A method for reacting to changes of items hanging on peg-hooks connected to pegboards, the method comprising:

receiving a first indication indicative of a change of items hanging on a first peg-hook connected to a pegboard;

receiving a second indication indicative of a change of items hanging on a second peg-hook connected to the pegboard;

in response to the first indication, causing an action related to a first product type; and

in response to the second indication, causing an action related to a second product type, the second product type differs from the first product type,

wherein the first indication is indicative of whether a product was placed on the first peg-hook or whether a product was removed from the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on whether a product was placed on the first peg-hook or whether a product was removed from the first peg-hook.

17. A system for reacting to changes of items hanging on peg-hooks connected to pegboards, the system comprising:

at least one processor programmed to:

receive a first indication indicative of a change of items hanging on a first peg-hook connected to a pegboard;

receive a second indication indicative of a change of items hanging on a second peg-hook connected to the pegboard;

in response to the first indication, cause an action related to a first product type; and

in response to the second indication, cause an action related to a second product type, the second product type differs from the first product type,

wherein the first indication is indicative of whether a product was placed on the first peg-hook or whether a product was removed from the first peg-hook, and the action related to the first product type is based on whether a product was placed on the first peg-hook or whether a product was removed from the first peg-hook.

The system of claim 17 , further comprising a plurality of sensors configured to be connected to the pegboard, and wherein the first indication is received from a first sensor of the plurality of sensors, and the second indication is received from a second sensor of the plurality of sensors, the second sensor differs from the first sensor.

The system of claim 17 , further comprising a first sensor configured to be connected to the first peg-hook and a second sensor configured to be connected to the second peg-hook, and wherein the first indication is received from the first sensor and the second indication is received from the second sensor.
