Abstract

A method for processing requests to consolidate loans includes receiving, from one or more third party electronic computing devices, information regarding outstanding loans for a user that are issued by one or more third party lenders. The information is sent to a user electronic computing device. A selection is received of loans the user wishes to refinance or consolidate. A benefits analysis is performed for the loans. Based on the benefits analysis, a determination is made of whether any of the outstanding loans can be consolidated, and whether any of the loans are excluded from being consolidated. Consolidated loan information is sent to the user electronic computing device regarding a consolidated loan for any of the loans that can be consolidated. Exclusion information is sent to the user electronic computing device regarding any of the loans that are excluded from being consolidated.

Claims (38)

1. An electronic computing device, comprising:

at least one processor; and

system memory, the system memory including instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic computing device to generate a graphical user interface including:

a consolidation window which provides a consolidation listing of one or more outstanding loans for loan consolidation in a consolidation group, the consolidation listing including a control element associated with each of the one or more outstanding loans, with the control element allowing for inclusion or exclusion of the one or more outstanding loans in the consolidation group; and

an exclusion window which provides an exclusion listing of any outstanding loans that are excluded from the consolidation group;

wherein the consolidation window is presented as a first tab of the graphical user interface, and wherein the exclusion window is presented as a second tab of the graphical user interface;

wherein the consolidation window is shown on top of the exclusion window;

wherein the consolidation window is shown upon receipt of selection of the first tab, and the exclusion window is shown upon receipt of selection of the second tab;

wherein the consolidation window displays an adjustable parameter for the consolidation group;

wherein the exclusion window prevents selection of at least one of the one or more outstanding loans based on the electronic computing device determining that the adjustable parameter of the consolidation window results in the one of the one or more outstanding loans being ineligible for consolidation; and

wherein the exclusion window generates text output based on a reason for the one of the one or more outstanding loans being ineligible for consolidation, the reason being determined based on one or more terms of the one of the one or more outstanding loans, the text output including the one or more terms that resulted in ineligibility.

2. The electronic computing device of claim 1 , wherein the exclusion listing further includes an explanation for exclusion of the any outstanding loans.

3. The electronic computing device of claim 2 , wherein the explanation includes different loan terms that make an excluded loan eligible for the consolidation group.

4. The electronic computing device of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic computing device to display the adjustable parameter selected from an estimated monthly payment, a consolidated interest rate, a term, and an estimated total cost of a consolidated loan.

5. The electronic computing device of claim 4 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic computing device to:

receive an adjustment of the adjustable parameter; and

display, based on the adjustment of the adjustable parameter, loan consolidation information including at least one of a revised interest rate, a revised final total monthly payment amount, and a revised final total cost of the consolidated loan.

6. The electronic computing device of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic computing device to provide a link that is selectable to show detailed information about one of the one or more outstanding loans in the consolidation group.

7. The electronic computing device of claim 6 , wherein the detailed information includes one or more of account number, account name and estimated remaining term.

8. The electronic computing device of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic computing device to generate a consolidated loan window which provides a summary of a consolidated loan.

9. A method, comprising:

creating, on an electronic computing device, a consolidation window which provides a consolidation listing of one or more outstanding loans for loan consolidation in a consolidation group, the consolidation listing including a control element associated with each of the one or more outstanding loans, with the control element allowing for inclusion or exclusion of the one or more outstanding loans in the consolidation group; and

creating, on the electronic computing device, an exclusion window which provides an exclusion listing of any outstanding loans that are excluded from the consolidation group;

wherein the consolidation window is presented as a first tab of a graphical user interface, and wherein the exclusion window is presented as a second tab of the graphical user interface;

wherein the consolidation window is shown on top of the exclusion window;

wherein the consolidation window is shown upon receipt of selection of the first tab, and the exclusion window is shown upon receipt of selection of the second tab;

wherein the consolidation window displays an adjustable parameter for the consolidation group;

wherein the exclusion window prevents selection of at least one of the one or more outstanding loans based on the electronic computing device determining that the adjustable parameter of the consolidation window results in the one of the one or more outstanding loans being ineligible for consolidation; and

wherein the exclusion window generates text output based on a reason for the one of the one or more outstanding loans being ineligible for consolidation, the reason being determined based on one or more terms of the one of the one or more outstanding loans, the text output including the one or more terms that resulted in ineligibility.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the exclusion listing further includes an explanation for exclusion of the any outstanding loans.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the explanation includes different loan terms that make an excluded loan eligible for the consolidation group.

12. The method of claim 9 , displaying the adjustable parameter selected from an estimated monthly payment, a consolidated interest rate, a term, and an estimated total cost of a consolidated loan.

13. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

receiving an adjustment of the adjustable parameter; and

displaying, based on the adjustment of the adjustable parameter, loan consolidation information including at least one of a revised interest rate, a revised final total monthly payment amount, and a revised final total cost of the consolidated loan.

14. The method of claim 9 , further comprising providing a link that is selectable to show detailed information about one of the one or more outstanding loans in the consolidation group.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the detailed information includes one or more of account number, account name and estimated remaining term.

16. The method of claim 9 , further comprising generating a consolidated loan window which provides a summary of a consolidated loan.
