Reducing agents and uses thereof
Disclosed herein, inter alia, are novel reducing agents having the general formula and methods of use thereof.
1. A compound having the formula:

R 1 is —W 1 -L 1 -R 4 ;
R 2 is halogen or —W 2 -L 2 -R 5 ;
R 3 is halogen or —W 3 -L 3 -R 6 ;
W 1 , W 2 , and W 3 are independently —O—, —S—, or —NH—;
L 1 , L 2 , and L 3 are independently substituted or unsubstituted C 1 to C 8 alkylene;

R 5 is hydrogen, —OH, NH 2 , —COOH, —CONH 2 , —SH, —SO 3 H, —SO 4 H, —SO 2 NH 2 , or
R 6 is hydrogen, —OH, NH 2 , —COOH, —CONH 2 , —SH, —SO 3 H, —SO 4 H, —SO 2 NH 2 , or

wherein R 4A , R 4B , R 5A , R 5B , R 6A , and R 6B are independently substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted heterocycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl.
2. The compound of claim 1 , wherein W 1 , W 2 , and W 3 are each —O—.
3. The compound of claim 1 , wherein W 1 , W 2 , and W 3 are each —S— or —NH—.
4. The compound of claim 1 , wherein L 1 , L 2 , and L 3 are independently unsubstituted C 1 to C 4 alkylene.
