Abstract

A display device includes: a first substrate; a poly-silicon layer disposed on the first substrate; a first metal layer disposed on the poly-silicon layer and including a gate electrode; a first insulating layer disposed on the first metal layer; a second insulating layer disposed on the first insulating layer; a second metal layer covering a part of the second insulating layer; and a light emitting diode unit electrically connected to a first portion of the second metal layer, wherein a thickness of the second insulating layer under the second metal layer is larger than a thickness of the second insulating layer uncovered with the second metal layer.

Claims (16)

1. A display device, comprising:

a first substrate;

a poly-silicon layer disposed on the first substrate;

a first metal layer disposed on the poly-silicon layer and comprising a gate electrode;

a first insulating layer disposed on the first metal layer;

a second insulating layer disposed on the first insulating layer, wherein the first insulating layer is disposed between the first metal layer and the second insulating layer;

a second metal layer covering a part of the second insulating layer; and

a light emitting diode unit electrically connected to a first portion of the second metal layer,

wherein a thickness of the second insulating layer under the second metal layer is larger than a thickness of the second insulating layer uncovered with the second metal layer.

2. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the second insulating layer uncovered with the second metal layer is 10˜95% of the thickness of the second insulating layer under the second metal layer.

3. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the light emitting diode unit comprises a first electrode electrically connected to the first portion of the second metal layer.

4. The display device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the gate electrode and the first electrode are at least partially overlapped.

5. The display device as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising a pixel defining layer disposed on the first electrode, wherein the pixel defining layer comprises a pixel opening, and a light emitting region of the light emitting diode unit is defined by the pixel opening.

6. The display device as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the gate electrode and the pixel opening are at least partially overlapped.

7. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the light emitting diode unit is an organic light emitting diode unit.

8. The display device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second metal layer comprises a second portion separated from the first portion of the second metal layer, and a portion of the first metal layer and the second portion of the second metal layer are electrically connected.
