Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to facilitating routing of communications. More specifically, techniques are provided to dynamically route messages having certain intents between bots and user devices during communication sessions configured with multi-channel capabilities.

Claims (65)

1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

initiating a communication session between a bot and a user device associated with a user;

receiving, by the bot, an initial selection of a question and an answer associated with the question from among a plurality of questions and answers;

initiating, based on the initial selection, a first alternate communication session between the user device and a first separate entity associated with the question and the answer;

receiving a resume indication, indicating that the user wants to resume the communication session;

re-initiating the communication session based on the resume indication;

receiving an indication of insufficiency, indicating that the first alternate communication session was unsatisfactory;

providing, based on the indication if insufficiency, a plurality of additional questions and answers related to the question and the answer;

receiving a subsequent selection of an additional question and an additional answer associated with the additional question; and

initiating, based on the subsequent selection, a second alternate communication session between the user device and a second separate entity associated with the additional question and the additional answer.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first separate entity is a second bot associated with the question and answer.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first separate entity is a client device associated with an agent that provided the answer.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the second separate entity is an author device associated with an author of the additional question and the additional answer, and the computer-implemented method further comprises: providing an interactive interface for collecting payment information; providing a timer that tracks a time of the second alternate communication session; and determining an amount of payment due based on the tracked time.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising, prior to initiating the first alternate communication session, providing instructions for returning to the communication session.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining, by the bot, that the second alternate communication session has ended; re-initiating the communication session between the bot and the user device; and providing a second plurality of additional questions and answers based on one or more characteristics of the user.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the resume indication includes a selection of the bot from a conversation list provided to the user device.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of questions and answers are provided to the user device as a menu in a graphical interface associated with the communication session.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a rating from the user device, wherein the rating is associated with the second separate entity.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising, prior to initiating transmitting, by the bot during a second separate entity communication session between the bot and the second separate entity, a request for the additional question and the additional answer.

11. A system comprising:

a communication interface that communicates over a communication network, wherein the communication interface:

initiates a communication session between a bot and a user device associated with a user;

receives, by the bot, an initial selection of a question and an answer associated with the question from among a plurality of questions and answers;

initiates, based on the initial selection, a first alternate communication session between the user device and a first separate entity associated with the question and the answer;

receives a resume indication, indicating that the user wants to resume the communication session;

re-initiates the communication session based on the resume indication;

receives an indication of insufficiency, indicating that the first alternate communication session was unsatisfactory;

provides, based on the indication if insufficiency, a plurality of additional questions and answers related to the question and the answer;

receives a subsequent selection of an additional question and an additional answer associated with the additional question; and

initiates, based on the subsequent selection, a second alternate communication session between the user device and a second separate entity associated with the additional question and the additional answer.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the first separate entity is a second bot associated with the question and answer.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the first separate entity is a client device associated with an agent that provided the answer.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the second separate entity is an author device associated with an author of the additional question and the additional answer, and the communication interface additionally: provides an interactive interface for collecting payment information; provides a timer that tracks a time of the second alternate communication session; and determines an amount of payment due based on the tracked time.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein, prior to initiating the first alternate communication session, the communication interface additionally provides instructions for returning to the communication session.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the communication interface additionally: determines, by the bot, that the second alternate communication session has ended; re-initiates the communication session between the bot and the user device; and provides a second plurality of additional questions and answers based on one or more characteristics of the user.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the resume indication includes a selection of the bot from a conversation list provided to the user device.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of questions and answers are provided to the user device as a menu in a graphical interface associated with the communication session.

19. The system of claim 11 , wherein the communication interface additionally receives a rating from the user device, wherein the rating is associated with the second separate entity.

20. The system of claim 11 , wherein the communication interface additionally, prior to transmits, by the bot during a second separate entity communication session between the bot and the second separate entity, a request for the additional question and the additional answer.

21. A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium, having embodied thereon a program executable by a processor to perform a method comprising:

initiating a communication session between a bot and a user device associated with a user;

receiving, by the bot, an initial selection of a question and an answer associated with the question from among a plurality of questions and answers;

initiating, based on the initial selection, a first alternate communication session between the user device and a first separate entity associated with the question and the answer;

receiving a resume indication, indicating that the user wants to resume the communication session;

re-initiating the communication session based on the resume indication;

receiving an indication of insufficiency, indicating that the first alternate communication session was unsatisfactory;

providing, based on the indication if insufficiency, a plurality of additional questions and answers related to the question and the answer;

receiving a subsequent selection of an additional question and an additional answer associated with the additional question; and

initiating, based on the subsequent selection, a second alternate communication session between the user device and a second separate entity associated with the additional question and the additional answer.

22. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the first separate entity is a second bot associated with the question and answer.

23. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the first separate entity is a client device associated with an agent that provided the answer.

24. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the second separate entity is an author device associated with an author of the additional question and the additional answer, and the method further comprises:

providing an interactive interface for collecting payment information;

providing a timer that tracks a time of the second alternate communication session; and

determining an amount of payment due based on the tracked time.

25. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the method further comprises, prior to initiating the first alternate communication session, providing instructions for returning to the communication session.

26. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the method further comprises:

determining, by the bot, that the second alternate communication session has ended;

re-initiating the communication session between the bot and the user device; and

providing a second plurality of additional questions and answers based on one or more characteristics of the user.

27. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the resume indication includes a selection of the bot from a conversation list provided to the user device.
