Abstract

Prosthetic heart valve devices for percutaneous replacement of native heart valves and associated systems and method are disclosed herein. A prosthetic heart valve device configured in accordance with a particular embodiment of the present technology can include an anchoring member having an upstream portion configured to engage with tissue on or near the annulus of the native heart valve and to deform in a non-circular shape to conform to the tissue. The device can also include a mechanically isolated valve support coupled to the anchoring member and configured to support a prosthetic valve. The device can further include an atrial extension member extending radially outward from the upstream portion of the anchoring member and which is deformable without substantially deforming the anchoring member. In some embodiments, the upstream portion of the anchoring member and the extension member may be deformed while the valve support remains sufficiently stable.

Claims (18)

1. A prosthetic heart valve device for treating a native valve having a native annulus and native leaflets, the prosthetic heart valve device including a radially compressed configuration and a radially expanded configuration, the prosthetic heart valve device comprising:

a valve support expandable from a low-profile configuration for delivery to an expanded configuration for implantation at the native valve, wherein a first end of the valve support includes a plurality of valve-support eyelets;

a prosthetic valve mounted to the valve support and adapted to allow blood flow in a downstream direction and to block blood flow in an upstream direction;

an anchoring member including a first end attached to the valve support and a second end spaced from the valve support with the prosthetic heart valve device in the radially expanded configuration, the anchoring member being configured to contact an inner surface of the native leaflets, wherein the first end of the anchoring member includes a plurality of anchoring-member eyelets, wherein each of the plurality of anchoring-member eyelets is aligned with a corresponding valve support eyelet of the plurality of valve-support eyelets; and

connectors attaching the anchoring member to the valve support at the plurality of valve-support eyelets and the plurality of anchoring-member eyelets.

2. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 1 , wherein the connectors are selected from the group consisting of sutures, solder, welds, staples, rivets, mechanical interlocks, friction connectors, interference-fit connectors, or any combination thereof.

3. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 2 , wherein the connectors comprise rivets.

4. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 2 , wherein the connectors comprise sutures.

5. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 1 , wherein the first end of the anchoring member is an upstream end and the first end of the anchoring member is an upstream end of the valve support.

6. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 5 , wherein at least a portion of the anchoring member flares outwardly in a downstream direction from the first end of the anchoring member.

7. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 6 , wherein the anchoring member extends only a partial length of the valve support such that the second end of the anchoring member is upstream of a downstream end of the valve support.

The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 5 , wherein the anchoring member includes a longitudinally extending integration region at the first end of the anchoring member, the integration region being coupled to the first end of the valve support, a first portion extending outwardly from the integration region, and a second portion extending generally longitudinally from a distal end of the first portion.

9. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 8 , wherein the anchoring-member eyelets are disposed at a first end of the integration region.

10. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 1 , wherein the first end of the anchoring member is a downstream end and the first end of the valve support is a downstream end.

11. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 10 , wherein at least a portion of the anchoring member flares outwardly in an upstream direction from the first end of the anchoring member.

12. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 11 , wherein the anchoring member extends only a partial length of the valve support such that the second end of the anchoring member is downstream of an upstream end of the valve support.

The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 10 , wherein the anchoring member includes a longitudinally extending integration region at the first end of the anchoring member, the integration region being coupled to the first end of the valve support, a first portion extending outwardly from the integration region, and a second portion extending generally longitudinally from a distal end of the lateral portion.

14. The prosthetic heart valve device of claim 13 , wherein the anchoring-member eyelets are disposed at a first end of the integration region.
