Abstract

Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for facilitating communications initiated through a social networking account. A detected message communicated using a social networking account can be determined to satisfy a response criteria. Code for displaying a communications initiation feature on a customer communications apparatus associated with the social networking account can be transmitted. Selection information representing a selection of the communications initiation feature can be received and can include a parameter associated with the selection and origin information. The selection information can be validated by determining that the selection is associated with the social networking account and by comparing the parameter with a stored credential associated with the communications initiation feature. When the selection is validated, the communications can be facilitated.

Claims (47)

1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

detecting a sentiment associated with a message corresponding to an entity, wherein the message is submitted through a social networking site, and wherein the message is associated with a user;

generating a link, wherein the link is generated in response to the sentiment, wherein the link is associated with a set of criteria that corresponds to a set of social networking parameters associated with the user, and wherein actuation of the link causes transmission of a service request to the entity;

automatically transmitting the link, wherein when the link is actuated by a user device associated with the user, a determination is made as to whether the set of criteria is fulfilled;

receiving input corresponding to the actuation of the link, wherein the input includes identifying information associated with the user;

accessing the set of criteria to compare the identifying information to the set of social networking parameters, wherein when the identifying information corresponds to the set of social networking parameters, the set of criteria is fulfilled; and

tailoring a service request channel between the entity and the user device, wherein the service request channel is tailored according to the set of social networking parameters and the sentiment.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the service request channel includes an online chat session between the entity and the user device.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein:

the set of social networking parameters include a geographical location associated with the user; and

the service request channel is tailored according to the geographical location.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the service request channel includes a video chat session between a representative associated with the entity and the user.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the set of criteria further defines a limitation on a number of times the link can be actuated prior to automatic expiration of the link.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the set of social networking parameters include an indication that the user is a follower of the social networking site.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the set of social networking parameters are determined based on a profile page corresponding to the user, and wherein the profile page is associated with the social networking site.

8. A system, comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing thereon instructions that, as a result of being executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to:

detect a sentiment associated with a message corresponding to an entity, wherein the message is submitted through a social networking site, and wherein the message is associated with a user;

generate a link, wherein the link is generated in response to the sentiment, wherein the link is associated with a set of criteria that corresponds to a set of social networking parameters associated with the user, and wherein actuation of the link causes transmission of a service request to the entity;

automatically transmit the link, wherein when the link is actuated by a user device associated with the user, a determination is made as to whether the set of criteria is fulfilled;

receive input corresponding to the actuation of the link, wherein the input includes identifying information associated with the user;

access the set of criteria to compare the identifying information to the set of social networking parameters, wherein when the identifying information corresponds to the set of social networking parameters, the set of criteria is fulfilled; and

tailor a service request channel between the entity and the user device, wherein the service request channel is tailored according to the set of social networking parameters and the sentiment.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the service request channel includes an online chat session between the entity and the user device.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein:

the set of social networking parameters include a geographical location associated with the user; and

the service request channel is tailored according to the geographical location.

11. The system of claim 8 , wherein the service request channel includes a video chat session between a representative associated with the entity and the user.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the set of criteria further defines a limitation on a number of times the link can be actuated prior to automatic expiration of the link.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the set of social networking parameters include an indication that the user is a follower of the social networking site.

14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the set of social networking parameters are determined based on a profile page corresponding to the user, and wherein the profile page is associated with the social networking site.

15. A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium storing thereon executable instructions that, as a result of being executed by one or more processors of a computer system, cause the computer system to:

detect a sentiment associated with a message corresponding to an entity, wherein the message is submitted through a social networking site, and wherein the message is associated with a user;

generate a link, wherein the link is generated in response to the sentiment, wherein the link is associated with a set of criteria that corresponds to a set of social networking parameters associated with the user, and wherein actuation of the link causes transmission of a service request to the entity;

automatically transmit the link, wherein when the link is actuated by a user device associated with the user, a determination is made as to whether the set of criteria is fulfilled;

receive input corresponding to actuation of the link, wherein the input includes identifying information associated with the user;

access the set of criteria to compare the identifying information to the set of social networking parameters, wherein when the identifying information corresponds to the set of social networking parameters, the set of criteria is fulfilled; and

tailor a service request channel between the entity and the user device, wherein the service request channel is tailored according to the set of social networking parameters and the sentiment.

16. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the service request channel includes an online chat session between the entity and the user device.

17. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein:

the set of social networking parameters include a geographical location associated with the user; and

the service request channel is tailored according to the geographical location.

18. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the service request channel includes a video chat session between a representative associated with the entity and the user.

19. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the set of criteria further defines a limitation on a number of times the link can be actuated prior to automatic expiration of the link.

20. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the set of social networking parameters include an indication that the user is a follower of the social networking site.

21. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the set of social networking parameters are determined based on a profile page corresponding to the user, and wherein the profile page is associated with the social networking site.
