Abstract

Implementations of the present disclosure provide techniques to optimize distribution to multiple websites of online reviews associated with a merchant system. The system and method include receiving, from a merchant system associated with a merchant, assignment of a weight value corresponding to each website of a plurality of websites configured to receive a review associated with a merchant. A distribution parameter associated with the plurality of websites is received from the merchant system. A request to provide a review of the merchant is provided to a user system, the request comprising a link. Receiving from the user system, an indication associated with the link. In response to receiving the indication, identifying, by a redirection container, a first website of the plurality of websites based on the weight value corresponding to each website of the plurality of websites and the distribution parameter. The user system is redirected, via the redirection container, to the first website for posting an online review of the merchant.

Claims (46)

1. A system comprising:

a memory to store instructions; and

a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:

receiving, from a merchant system associated with a merchant, assignment of a weight value corresponding to each website of a plurality of websites configured to receive a review associated with a merchant;

receiving, from the merchant system, a distribution parameter associated with the plurality of websites, wherein the distribution parameter comprises a rule governing placement of a review of the merchant among the plurality of websites;

providing, to a user system, a request to provide the review of the merchant, the request comprising a link;

receiving, from the user system, an indication associated with the link;

identifying, via an application programming interface associated with a first website, a first level of aggregated online activity associated with the first website of the plurality of websites;

determining that a condition is satisfied indicating that the first level of aggregated online activity is greater than a threshold level established by the merchant system;

in response to receiving the indication, identifying, by a redirection container, the first website of the plurality of websites based on the weight value corresponding to each website of the plurality of websites, the distribution parameter, and satisfaction of the condition; and

redirecting, via the redirection container, a web browser of the user system to the first website for posting an online review of the merchant.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the weight value comprises an integer in a range from a lowest weight value to a highest weight value.

3. The system of claim 1 , the operations further comprising determining a percentage of a total number of requests for reviews associated with the merchant to transmit to the first website based on a first weight value associated with the first website.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the distribution parameter comprises a maximum number of requests for reviews associated with the merchant to send in a time period.

5. The system of claim 1 , the operations further comprising setting a first target percentage of a total number of reviews to send to the first website and a second target percentage of the total number of reviews to send to a second website of the plurality of websites.

6. The system of claim 1 , the operations further comprising generating statistics representing a distribution of reviews posted via the redirection container to the plurality of websites during a time period.

7. The system of claim 1 , the operations further comprising receiving, from the merchant system, a set of updated distribution percentages associated with the plurality of websites.

8. A method comprising:

receiving, from a merchant system associated with a merchant, assignment of a weight value corresponding to each website of a plurality of websites configured to receive a review associated with a merchant;

receiving, from the merchant system, a distribution parameter associated with the plurality of websites, wherein the distribution parameter comprises a rule governing placement of a review of the merchant among the plurality of websites;

providing, to a user system, a request to provide the review of the merchant, the request comprising a link;

receiving, from the user system, an indication associated with the link;

identifying, via an application programming interface associated with a first website, a first level of aggregated online activity associated with the first website of the plurality of websites;

determining that a condition is satisfied indicating that the first level of aggregated online activity is greater than a threshold level established by the merchant system;

in response to receiving the indication, identifying, by a redirection container, the first website of the plurality of websites based on the weight value corresponding to each website of the plurality of websites, the distribution parameter, and satisfaction of the condition; and

redirecting, via the redirection container, a web browser of the user system to the first website for posting an online review of the merchant.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the weight value comprises an integer in a range from a lowest weight value to a highest weight value.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising determining a percentage of a total number of requests for reviews associated with the merchant to transmit to the first website based on a first weight value associated with the first website.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the distribution parameter comprises a maximum number of requests for reviews associated with the merchant to send in a time period.

12. The method of claim 8 , further comprising setting a first target percentage of a total number of reviews to send to the first website and a second target percentage of the total number of reviews to send to a second website of the plurality of websites.

13. The method of claim 8 , further comprising generating statistics representing a distribution of reviews posted via the redirection container to the plurality of websites during a time period.

14. The method of claim 8 , further comprising receiving, from the merchant system, a set of updated distribution percentages associated with the plurality of websites.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:

receiving, from a merchant system associated with a merchant, assignment of a weight value corresponding to each website of a plurality of websites configured to receive a review associated with a merchant;

receiving, from the merchant system, a distribution parameter associated with the plurality of websites, wherein the distribution parameter comprises a rule governing placement of a review of the merchant among the plurality of websites;

providing, to a user system, a request to provide the review of the merchant, the request comprising a link;

receiving, from the user system, an indication associated with the link;

identifying, via an application programming interface associated with a first website, a first level of aggregated online activity associated with the first website of the plurality of websites;

determining that a condition is satisfied indicating that the first level of aggregated online activity is greater than a threshold level established by the merchant system;

in response to receiving the indication, identifying, by a redirection container, the first website of the plurality of websites based on the weight value corresponding to each website of the plurality of websites, the distribution parameter, and satisfaction of the condition; and

redirecting, via the redirection container, a web browser of the user system to the first website for posting an online review of the merchant.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the weight value comprises an integer in a range from a lowest weight value to a highest weight value.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising determining a percentage of a total number of requests for reviews associated with the merchant to transmit to the first website based on a first weight value associated with the first website.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the distribution parameter comprises a maximum number of requests for reviews associated with the merchant to send in a time period.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising setting a first target percentage of a total number of reviews to send to the first website and a second target percentage of the total number of reviews to send to a second website of the plurality of websites.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising generating statistics representing a distribution of reviews posted via the redirection container to the plurality of websites during a time period.
