Abstract

Methods and systems are disclosed that automate and institutionalize many aspects of the process of creating software. Embodiments automate aspects of pricing, software creation, and delivery using a manufacturing-styled approach to development that reuses existing code and other existing software design features.

Claims (28)

1. A web-based system that machine assists customers to design custom applications and develop custom applications comprising:

a computer configured to:

interact with a customer to collect requirements for the customer's custom application through a series of interfaces,

query against an existing feature source code library to determine new source code requirements,

generate a project template based on the new source code requirements and existing features and pass the project template to a project management tool including the new source code requirements, and

operate the project management tool that is configured to machine-assist project scheduling for development of the custom application and implement a software development management process,

wherein the system is configured to assign source code from a source code library to a new project repository and triggers code transfer to the new project repository, and

wherein the system is configured to automatically generate the price based on the new source code requirements determined by querying the code repository;

wherein the customer relationship management system includes a chatbot that is configured to send messages to the customer based on event ID and parses inbound messaging into the event manager.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein the system is configured to include an event manger as part of the customer relationship management system and is configured to pass event IDs to appropriate subsystems.

3. The system of claim 1 wherein the customer relationship management system includes a content management system that pulls content from the code library and sends the content to the customer based on event IDs.

4. The system of claim 1 wherein the system is configured to perform a project development process comprising managing project delivery using automated actions interacting with the customer and an assigned development team.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein the system is configured to include a project builder that is configured to pass new source code requirements to a team selector process.

6. A web-based system that machine assists customers to design custom applications and develop custom applications comprising:

a computer configured to:

interact with a customer to collect requirements for the customer's custom application through a series of interfaces,

query against an existing feature source code library to determine new source code requirements,

generate a project template based on new source code requirements and existing features and pass the project template to a project management tool including new source code requirements,

operate the project management tool that is configured to machine-assist project scheduling for development of the custom application and implement a software development management process; and

include a project builder that is configured to pass new source code requirements to a team selector process,

wherein the system is configured to assign source code from a source code library to a new project repository and triggers code transfer to the new project repository,

wherein the system is configured to automatically generate the price based on the new source code requirements determined by querying the code repository, and

wherein the system is configured to perform a project development process comprising managing project delivery using automated actions interacting with the customer and an assigned development team;

wherein the customer relationship management system includes a chatbot that is configured to send messages to the customer based on event ID and parses inbound messaging into the event manager.

7. The system of claim 6 wherein the system is configured to include an event manger as part of a customer relationship management system and is configured to pass event IDs to appropriate subsystems.

8. The system of claim 6 wherein the customer relationship management system includes a content management system that pulls content from the code library and sends the content to the customer based on event IDs.

9. The system of claim 6 wherein the system is configured to include a project builder that is configured to pass new source code requirements to a team selector process.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein the system is configured to assign source code from a source code library to a new project repository and triggers code transfer to the new project repository.
