Abstract

A multilayer plastic bottle comprising at least one layer comprising a composition, said composition comprising: polyethylene terephthalate that is substantially free of antimony; an oxidizable polyether-based additive; and a transition metal catalyst, wherein the bottle has an oxygen permeability of not more than about 3.0 cm 3 mm/(m 2 atm day) immediately after the bottle is formed.
