Abstract

Systems and methods for managing mobile payments is provided. An account issuer provides an application that is loaded onto a mobile device, which enables a consumer to pay for transactions. The mobile payment application generates a unique code. The code is read by the point of sale terminal, which is then provided to the payment management system. The payment management system contracts the account issuer and authenticates the code, thereby receiving a primary account number. Account number and transaction information is used to authorize the transaction via payment systems. The payment system accepts or declines the transaction in a response. Tokens may be generated for the account number, and value added services may be generated based upon user behaviors.

Claims (47)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method for payment management of mobile payments, the method comprising:

obtaining, by a payment management system, historical transaction data associated with a user;

determining, by the payment management system and based on the obtained historical transaction data, a goods-purchasing category associated with the user;

identifying, by the payment management system, a geographic location associated with the user;

generating, by the payment management system, at least one prediction for purchasing behavior of the user based on the goods-purchasing category associated with the user and the identified geographic location associated with the user;

generating, by the payment management system and based on the at least one prediction for purchasing behavior, at least one value added service; and

transmitting, by the payment management system, the at least one value added service to a payment application installed on a mobile device associated with the user.

22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the historical transaction data comprises at least one of: transaction location, transaction amount, transaction frequency, transaction time, and transaction identity.

23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the determining the goods-purchasing category associated with the user comprises assigning the user to a pre-existing goods-purchasing category from a listing of available goods-purchasing categories.

24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein each of the available goods-purchasing categories is associated with specific transaction criteria.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the identifying the geographic location comprises identifying via utilization of global positioning system (GPS) data associated with the mobile device.

26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the generating the at least one prediction for purchasing behavior of the user comprises generating based on knowledge contained in the historical transaction data.

27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the historical transaction data comprises an indication of a frequent goods-purchasing time and a frequent goods-purchasing location.

28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the at least one value added service comprises a discount coupon or a deal for a goods transaction.

29 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the transmitting the at least one value added service to the payment application comprises integrating the value added service into the payment application.

30 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the transmitting the at least one value added service to the payment application comprises transmitting at a predetermined time based on the historical transaction data.

31 . A system for payment management of mobile payments, the system comprising:

one or more processors;

one or more computer readable media storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

obtaining, by a payment management system, historical transaction data associated with a user;

determining, by the payment management system and based on the obtained historical transaction data, a goods-purchasing category associated with the user;

identifying, by the payment management system, a geographic location associated with the user;

generating, by the payment management system, at least one prediction for purchasing behavior of the user based on the goods-purchasing category associated with the user and the identified geographic location associated with the user;

generating, by the payment management system and based on the at least one prediction for purchasing behavior, at least one value added service; and

transmitting, by the payment management system, the at least one value added service to a payment application installed on a mobile device associated with the user.

32 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the historical transaction data comprises at least one of: transaction location, transaction amount, transaction frequency, transaction time, and transaction identity.

33 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the operations to determine the goods-purchasing category associated with the user further comprise:

assigning the user to a pre-existing goods-purchasing category from a listing of available goods-purchasing categories;

wherein each of the available goods-purchasing categories is associated with specific transaction criteria.

34 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the operations to identify the geographic location further comprise:

identifying via utilization of global positioning system (GPS) data associated with the mobile.

35 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the operations to generate at least one prediction for purchasing behavior of the user further comprise:

generating based on knowledge contained in the historical transaction data.

36 . The system of claim 35 , wherein the historical transaction data comprises an indication of a frequent goods-purchasing time and a frequent goods-purchasing location.

37 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the at least one value added service comprises a discount coupon or a deal for a goods transaction.

38 . The system of claim 31 , wherein the operations to transmit the at least one value added service to the payment application further comprise:

integrating the value added service into the payment application.

39 . The system of claim 38 , wherein the operations to transmit the at least one value added service to the payment application further comprise:

transmitting at a predetermined time based on the historical transaction data.

40 . One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations for payment management of mobile payments, the operations comprising:

obtaining, by a payment management system, historical transaction data associated with a user;

determining, by the payment management system and based on the obtained historical transaction data, a goods-purchasing category associated with the user;

identifying, by the payment management system, a geographic location associated with the user;

generating, by the payment management system, at least one prediction for purchasing behavior of the user based on the goods-purchasing category associated with the user and the identified geographic location associated with the user;

generating, by the payment management system and based on the at least one prediction for purchasing behavior, at least one value added service; and

transmitting, by the payment management system, the at least one value added service to a payment application installed on a mobile device associated with the user.
