Abstract

A method implemented on an augmented reality (AR) device includes accessing a user's investment strategy and selecting a material object. The material object and investment controls are displayed on a display screen of the AR device. The user alters the investment strategy using the investment controls. Alternative replacement objects are generated based on changes that the user makes to his or her investment strategy. One or more replacement objects are projected onto the display to represent an alternative material object that the user can afford based on the changed investment strategy.

Claims (48)

1. A method of visualizing investment strategy changes implemented on an augmented reality device, the method comprising:

accessing a user's investment strategy;

capturing, with the augmented reality device, one or more images of a material object in an environment of the user;

displaying, in an augmented reality environment, the one or more images of the material object and one or more investment controls for modifying the user's investment strategy;

receiving an adjustment, by the user, of the one or more investment controls to change the investment strategy for the user;

identifying a replacement object that corresponds to the material object and has a value that corresponds to the investment strategy as changed by the user; and

projecting the replacement object over the material object in the augmented reality environment.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein accessing comprises:

receiving identifying information from the user;

sending the identifying information to a server with which the user has an account; and

receiving the user's investment strategy from the server.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the identifying information is one or more of a user login, facial recognition, retinal scan, fingerprint scan, and voice recognition.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a command from the user to capture the one or more images of the material object in the environment of the user; and

capturing the one or more images of the material object in the environment from one or more angles of view.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

sending the one or more images of the material object to a server associated with an object database;

identifying the material object; and

generating a plurality of three-dimensional models of the replacement object having varying monetary values.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying the user's investment strategy in a form of numbers, figures, charts, and sliders.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying the investment strategy as changed by the user.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more investment controls include amount invested, type of investment, amount invested in each type of investment, and duration of investment.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more investment controls are adjustable using one or more of physical gestures, voice commands, and text entry.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more investment controls are adjustable using one or more of sliders, toggles, typed values, checkboxes, buttons, scroll bars, and drop down menus.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the replacement object is done automatically.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the replacement object is one of multiple identified replacement objects and the user selects the replacement object from the multiple identified replacement objects.

13. One or more computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to:

access a user's investment strategy from a server;

capture, with an augmented reality device, one or more images of a material object in an environment of the user;

display, in an augmented reality environment, the one or more images of the material object and one or more investment controls for modifying the user's investment strategy;

receive, from the user, an adjustment of the one or more investment controls to change the investment strategy for the user;

identify a replacement object that corresponds to the material object and has a value that corresponds to the investment strategy as changed by the user; and

project the replacement object over the material object in the augmented reality environment.

14. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the one or more computer-readable media has further computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by the one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to:

receive identifying information from the user in a form of facial recognition, retinal scan, fingerprint scan, or voice recognition;

send the identifying information to the server; and

receive the user's investment strategy from the server.

15. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the one or more computer-readable media has further computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by the one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to:

receive a command from the user to capture an image of the material object in the environment of the user; and

capture the one or more images of the material object in the environment from one or more angles of view.

16. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the one or more computer-readable media has further computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by the one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to:

send the material object to the server associated with an object database;

identify the material object; and

generate a plurality of three-dimensional models of the replacement object having varying monetary values.

17. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the one or more investment controls include amount invested, type of investment, amount invested in each type of investment, and duration of investment.

18. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the one or more investment controls are adjustable using one or more of physical gestures, voice commands, and text entry.

19. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the one or more computing devices to display the investment strategy as changed by the user.

20. The one or more computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the one or more computing devices to display the user's investment strategy in a form of numbers, figures, charts, and sliders.
