Abstract

A method of operating a machine via a display device user interface includes generating a text tree display control comprising a tree of text blocks on a first portion of a machine display interface, generating a term control comprising individual terms identified in the text tree display control on a second portion of the machine display interface, generating a navigation control comprising a visual representation of each branch of the text tree display control on a third portion of the machine display interface, operating an individual area of the term control comprising an individual term, to highlight and change all instances of the individual term in the text tree display control, and operating the navigation control to reorder branches of the text tree display control.

Claims (65)

1. A method comprising:

generating a text tree display control comprising a tree of text blocks, comprising at least one numbered root element for a branch comprising at least one text string terminating with a period, on a first portion of a machine display interface;

generating a term control comprising at least one individual term identified within text strings of at least one branch in the text tree display control and distinctly ordered from branches in the text tree display control on a second portion of the machine display interface;

determining a base form of the at least one individual term, wherein the base form comprises a singular noun form of the at least one individual term;

determining a plural form of the base form;

determining a collective form of the base form;

determining an antecedent-managed form of the base form,

wherein the antecedent-managed form is managed such that:

on condition the at least one individual term is singular, the at least one individual term is automatically introduced using an indefinite article; and

on condition the at least one individual term is plural, the at least one individual term is automatically introduced using no article, and

wherein the at least one individual term is automatically referenced after introduction using a definite article;

generating a custom elaboration control configured to accept at least one text entry signal;

receiving the at least one text entry signal;

generating at least one custom elaborated version based on the at least one text entry signal; and

configuring an individual area of the term control comprising the at least one individual term to display at least one of the base form, the plural form, the collective form, the antecedent-managed form, and the at least one custom elaborated version in association with the at least one individual term.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising

operating the individual area of the term control comprising the at least one individual term to display at least one of the at least one individual term, the base form, the plural form, the collective form, the antecedent-managed form, and the at least one custom elaborated version.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one custom elaborated version of the base form comprises an introductory form and an associated reference form, and

wherein the introductory form is used for a first instance of the at least one claim term and the associated reference form is used for subsequent instances of the at least one claim term associated with the introductory form.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the introductory form is a verb phrase comprising the at least one claim term and a present participle verb having the at least one claim term as an object, and

wherein the associated reference form is an adjective phrase comprising the at least one claim term and an adjective derived from the present participle verb modifying the at least one claim term.

5. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, the computer-readable storage medium including instructions that when executed by a device including a processor and memory, uniquely configure the memory and cause the device to:

generate a text tree display control comprising a tree of text blocks, comprising at least one numbered root element for a branch comprising at least one text string terminating with a period, on a first portion of a machine display interface;

generate a term control comprising at least one individual term identified within text strings of at least one branch in the text tree display control and distinctly ordered from branches in the text tree display control on a second portion of the machine display interface;

determine a base form of the at least one individual term, wherein the base form comprises a singular noun form of the at least one individual term;

determine a plural form of the base form;

determine a collective form of the base form;

determine an antecedent-managed form of the base form,

wherein the antecedent-managed form is managed such that:

on condition the at least one individual term is singular, the at least one individual term is automatically introduced using an indefinite article; and

on condition the at least one individual term is plural, the at least one individual term is automatically introduced using no article, and

wherein the at least one individual term is automatically referenced after introduction using a definite article;

generate a custom elaboration control configured to accept at least one text entry signal;

receive the at least one text entry signal;

generate at least one custom elaborated version based on the at least one text entry signal; and

configure an individual area of the term control comprising the at least one individual term to display at least one of the base form, the plural form, the collective form, the antecedent-managed form, and the at least one custom elaborated version in association with the at least one individual term.

6. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5 , wherein the instructions further configure the memory and cause the device to:

operate the individual area of the term control comprising the at least one individual term to display at least one of the at least one individual term, the base form, the plural form, the collective form, the antecedent-managed form, and the at least one custom elaborated version.

7. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5 , wherein the at least one custom elaborated version of the base form comprises an introductory form and an associated reference form, and

wherein the introductory form is used for a first instance of the at least one claim term and the associated reference form is used for subsequent instances of the at least one claim term associated with the introductory form.

8. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the introductory form is a verb phrase comprising the at least one claim term and a present participle verb having the at least one claim term as an object, and

wherein the associated reference form is an adjective phrase comprising the at least one claim term and an adjective derived from the present participle verb modifying the at least one claim term.

9. A computing apparatus, the computing apparatus comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the computing apparatus to:

generate a text tree display control comprising a tree of text blocks, comprising at least one numbered root element for a branch comprising at least one text string terminating with a period, on a first portion of a machine display interface;

generate a term control comprising at least one individual term identified within text strings of at least one branch in the text tree display control and distinctly ordered from branches in the text tree display control on a second portion of the machine display interface;

determine a base form of the at least one individual term, wherein the base form comprises a singular noun form of the at least one individual term;

determine a plural form of the base form;

determine a collective form of the base form;

determine an antecedent-managed form of the base form,

wherein the antecedent-managed form is managed such that:

on condition the at least one individual term is singular, the at least one individual term is automatically introduced using an indefinite article; and

on condition the at least one individual term is plural, the at least one individual term is automatically introduced using no article, and

wherein the at least one individual term is automatically referenced after introduction using a definite article;

generate a custom elaboration control configured to accept at least one text entry signal;

receive the at least one text entry signal;

generate at least one custom elaborated version based on the at least one text entry signal; and

configure an individual area of the term control comprising the at least one individual term to display at least one of the base form, the plural form, the collective form, the antecedent-managed form, and the at least one custom elaborated version in association with the at least one individual term.

10. The computing apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the instructions further configure the computing apparatus to:

operate the individual area of the term control comprising the at least one individual term to display at least one of the at least one individual term, the base form, the plural form, the collective form, the antecedent-managed form, and the at least one custom elaborated version.

11. The computing apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one custom elaborated version of the base form comprises an introductory form and an associated reference form, and

wherein the introductory form is used for a first instance of the at least one claim term and the associated reference form is used for subsequent instances of the at least one claim term associated with the introductory form.

12. The computing apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the introductory form is a verb phrase comprising the at least one claim term and a present participle verb having the at least one claim term as an object, and

wherein the associated reference form is an adjective phrase comprising the at least one claim term and an adjective derived from the present participle verb modifying the at least one claim term.
